“We love what we do. That’s the truth. Each and every single dress we individually create is for a real person. It is never just an order, it’s about making a dream a reality and we must never forget that.”
Beautiful brides-to-be, I’m so pleased today to be sharing the most romantic designer wedding dress collection by the wonderful Terry Fox. Terry’s quote at the beginning of today’s feature is just fabulous – she is a designer who knows just how important a wedding dress can be – and who values every bride as an individual. Her Siren Song collection exquisite, and while I’ve fallen in love with so many gowns in the collection I will leave it to Terry to introduce you to the collection in her very own words.
Dictionary definition – romance [n., adj., v. roh-mans]
A feeling of excitement and mystery associated with love.
The Terry Fox definition – “When a bride puts on a dress they fall in love with they often don’t really know why, but it’s a feeling, and they know it’s the dress they will be wearing on their wedding day. That’s romance.”
Siren Song 2015 is a truly romantic collection of bridal gowns now gracing the rails of selected stockists throughout the country. Terry has had time to reflect on her most ambitious collection to date. “For me it was about teasing, it was about detail, and it was about creating a character for a dress. I still love experimenting with fabrics, colour and embellishment, and I think there was a great balance in this collection“.
The signature vintage gowns still make an appearance, but in line with demand there will be a more relaxed vibe. Soft laces and tulles will be expertly put together to create dreamy dresses that offer a Boho feel. This attention to detail and Terry’s love of using original beadwork means that each and every dress will be slightly different: something which couldn’t be achieved if her manufacturing processes changed. All Terry Fox dresses are created by Terry and her expert team in her UK studio and workshop.
FREE SPIRIT 2016 Bridal Collection
Terry’s designs are always transforming and each year a slight change in style is required to meet the demands of new and more modern brides. The Terry Fox team are now getting excited as all the action in the studio is aimed towards creating the new 2016 collection. This will move towards cleaner, elegant lines, smooth fabrics and textured silks, all cleverly combined with a slightly more contemporary feel.
“I can feel a change in the air and it’s really exciting! The secret is to mix all the ingredients perfectly, and so keep beauty and elegance with a Terry Fox twist“.
And if that’s not enough, watch out for some daredevil couture gowns, just for the fun of it. There are a few occasions when only theatre and drama will do and one single dress demands all eyes are on you. Gowns where you can appreciate the true art of the design, the fabric and the craftmanship. “This is what I miss in my work” says Terry, “being an artist – and it’s time to get back to my roots!!!”
Terry will be unveiling the new collection ‘Free Spirit’ in March, and will continue to produce one-off couture gowns throughout the year.
