Happy Wednesday my lovelies!! Would you like to join me in reminiscing over the stunningly sunny summer we had this year? Today I’m sharing a beautiful styled shoot that local suppliers to The Secret River Garden in Twickenham created in the summer months. The shoot is based on a DIY location (and the Secret River Garden is just perfect for this!) to show what a bride and groom who are looking to create an outdoor wedding in a stunning garden setting can do!

This is affordable, pretty and eclectic wedding inspiration for everyone. By using a couple of statement pieces (the cakes from Naomi’s bakehouse and Johanna Pedrick Flowers bouquet are just STUNNING!!) it’s easy to create a wonderfully pretty wedding display – and do get your guests to help out with a little baking if you’d love to create a dessert table like this!! Stylists Gemma from Mrs Jones Tea and China Hire and Jenny from Mrs Myrtle Events used vintage china in soft pastel colours with some bold props and natural elements to create a pretty English picnic wedding suitable for those long summer days by the river or in a garden.

Pastels are our favourite wedding palette – they have been for years and I doubt that will ever change. But it’s easy to forget there’s a gentle rainbow of pastel colours encompassing everything from palest dusky pinks through to barely-there olive greens, dove greys and soft corals… because pastel doesn’t only mean pink.

Today’s shoot puts forward a beautiful and very strong case for delicate blue pastel hues. The key colour is Serenity, which works well all year round; for cool winter weddings and soft pastel spring and summer ones. It gives you the ‘something blue’ and is incredibly calming, delicate and outrageously pretty, whilst maintaining that elegant feel.

I just adore the winter styling – this talented team prove you can have a stunning wedding full of florals and pretty, romantic touches – even in the colder months of the year. Some of my faves are here with a glorious bouquet of anemones and white roses, and hyacinths in the table arrangements to give a wonderful fragrance too! The flowers are by Blue Sky Flowers, and you can find a full supplier list at the end of the feature.Claire

Somerley Estate sits right on the Dorset and Hampshire borders and is the stunning backdrop for this inspiration shoot.  A privately owned home and wedding venue, the house was designed in 1750 and has been in the Normanton family for five generations.  Somerley is gorgeous, (very) grand and has a lot of history.  With this shoot I wanted to bring a little piece of understated contemporary style to blend with the traditional luxury surroundings.

The colour palette combined grey with teal and soft apricot and I chose to blend silks by Kate Cullen with contemporary acrylic and copper materials.

The stationery was beautifully designed by Georgina Read Creative, on cotton combination paper with torn edges and featured a lovely copper seal detail. In fact this was one of my favourite details!  The stamp used was THE Somerley stamp and is hundreds of years old.

In 2016 flowers won the internet. But it was the lush greenery of botanical styled shoots which really stole my heart. Today the greens are just divine… this is wedding style in fabulous colours to whisk you away to another world – and of course, to inspire your wedding! It’s lush and lovely and wonderfully on trend for 2017.

The Boutique – London’s newest wedding experience – was the location for our shoot.  Founders Tori Harris and Vicky Mallinson were inspired by this fusion of old and new creating a stunning space that is light and airy, nods to a ‘vintage’ style within the furniture but ultimately looking beautifully modern.

Their inspiration for the styling of The Boutique coming from the fruit du jour – the pineapple.  Traditionally a symbol of luxe and hospitality pineapple prints subtly adorn the walls of The Boutique. Taking this tropical touch a step further with flamingo prints featuring on the walls in the bathroom and water glasses.  The whole space has a air of luxury while remaining quirky and fun!

The ONLY wedding theme which has been constantly popular since this blog was born in 2009 (we’re six!! who knew?!) is English Country Garden. I love that we’re so smitten with flowers, with nature, with the beauty of our gardens and countryside… and today’s styled inspiration shoot pays tribute to this, the loveliest wedding theme of all.

The inspiration of this editorial shoot was the location itself, the recently renovated south London wedding venue, Morden Hall and the surrounding beautiful Morden Hall Park. The park is run by National Trust and it contains a variety of natural landscapes, including parkland, the River Wandle, meadow and marshland. One of the most popular areaS of the park is the rose garden, which has over 2000 roses and other flowers and it is a stunning example of the traditional English rose garden. We wanted the images to reflect the elegance of this historic venue but also to showcase the natural beauty surrounding it.
