Vickerstaff Photography at The Place Hotel (16)
Knowing a wedding venue inside out, loving its features and being passionate about photography is what makes a wedding photographer very special indeed. Today’s wedding blog is the perfect example. Following on from yesterday’s glamorous Manchester bridal shoot, today we’re focusing on the delicious photography and super chic setting of The Place Hotel in Manchester.

Vickerstaff Photography at The Place Hotel (3)
I’d introduce Vickerstaff Photography myself, but I did that yesterday. So I’m using a great blog comment from last week instead:

I recently met Jamie at one of our monthly North West Photographer’s jaunts. Such an affable guy. I told him that I like his work. Have done for about 2 years but this was the first time he met me. This post just re-affirms my belief. The attention to the details. To story telling. To the formal portraiture. The quality of the finishing on the images… all top notch.” Read more… by Anurag Sharma

Place Hotel wedding photography (9)Recent Mondays on English Wedding Blog have been real treats. Today is no exception… for me it’s all about exquisite wedding photography. I’m sharing a glamorous bridal shoot from The Place Hotel in Manchester. There are wedding dresses from Amanda Wyatt and Charlotte Balbier’s 2013 collections, there are contemporary and elegant wedding flowers. The make up is perfect; the accessories chic and striking. The venue – is a dream.

Cheshire wedding photographers Vickerstaff Photography – or Jamie and Tory as you may know them if you follow English Wedding Blog here or on facebook – are making waves in wedding photography. A vibrant and creative team, they’re lovely people and the images you’re about to see are simply breathtaking.

However… I have my instructions to stop talking and to hand over to Tory to tell you about the shoot! So here you go – enjoy!

Morning everyone! We’ve more love from Scotland on the blog today, and it’s smiles all the way: if you’re easily shocked look away before we get to the bit where the best men raise their kilts… (I’m only joking)

There are some really beautiful wedding photos here: Andy and Bec had a beautiful wedding reception and it’s really great to see smiles on all the wedding guests’ faces – as well as the sheer delight from new husband and wife Andy and Bec.

Kilts, sporrens, and the broadest of happy smiles are lined up for you right now in this beautiful wedding day. Who doesn’t love a groom in a kilt… and one with a tear in his eye as he sees his bride approach the altar in church?

You’ll love this, you really really will. And I dare you not to cry just a little bit in the next five minutes!

wedding photography real wedding photos by ARJ Photography Cheshire (1)This wedding was submitted by my friend and wedding blog sponsor Adam Johnson of ARJ Photography in Manchester. Andy and Bec were married at St Benedict’s church in Womborne with a reception at Dunsley Hall in Kinver. Andy’s family are Scottish and there were many lovely details incorporated into the wedding to celebrate the Scottish connection.

Bec is a stunning bride with a beautiful smile: there are nervous moments and a few tears for both bride and groom today – but when they’re together Andy and Bec just look so happy.

Who remembers blinking in amazement and squealing in delight at the couple whose mad, exciting and painty engagement shoot I featured a little while ago? The one where they got covered in it, wrote LOVE on the wall and had to go home painted pink, yellow and blue from head to toe?

It was brilliant. I loved it. You loved it… with all your blog comments it went down a treat. And then David and Rachel got married. And the wedding day is EVEN BETTER! (of course it is… but as creative and inspiring and fun goes, it’s just incredible).

Rachel wrote the loveliest wedding report to share with us. So I’ll hand over to excellent wedding photographer Lucy West for the wedding pictures (part one) and to gorgeous bride Rachel to tell you all about it.

A lack of funds teamed with an overwhelming urge to be creative made our wedding quite unique. Our main themes were newspaper, buttons, graffiti paint and all things colourful!

Understandably, this wedding day had me intrigued from the moment I first heard about it! Bouncy castles, inflatables and a gorgeous village hall? Yes please! Louisa and Dan were married in Lancashire on the 4th of June and chose Neil Redfern as their wedding photographer. Louisa is originally from New Zealand, although now lives with Dan in Cumbria (spooky coincidence: my Gareth is half kiwi, and I’m from Cumbria! How could I not feature this wedding?!)

Neil told me how the wedding day unfolded: Louisa got ready in a little pub in Arkholme called the Bay Horse, the wedding ceremony was at Lancaster Town Hall and the reception at Arkholme Village Hall. The shots of Louisa & Dan in between the ceremony and the reception were taken on a bridge in Lancaster. The day had a really nice village fete feel to it and was extremely relaxed with lots of fun elements: a BBQ, bouncy castle, hula-hoops and an inflatable thing which guests could roll down a hill in!

Bluebells and the warm glow of April’s delicate sunshine… blue skies (remember those?), fountains and woodland glades… a beautiful couple and a great wedding photographer.

My favourite image: the bridges in Castlefield are instantly recognisable

My favourite image from this e-shoot: the bridges in Castlefield are instantly recognisable, Alexis and Adam are so into each other (and I love the damp Mancunian in the foreground too!)

E-shoot week has been so much fun – it’s been great to feature something different and I hope you’ve been enjoying the variety! But it doesn’t stop there… today I’m delighted to be sharing Alexis and Adam’s pre-wedding shoot in Castlefield, otherwise known as Manchester’s Official Department of Cool.

Alexis and Adam are a very good looking couple, stylish and a pretty perfect match if you ask me! They’re also up for a laugh and that’s how you should approach your e-shoot. If you’re ready for anything you’ll have a great time and get fantastic photography out of your day.

This being Manchester, it rained. In fact no, it poured. It does. But photographer Jonny Draper says it’s important to him to shoot an engagement shoot when it’s booked, no matter what the weather does – it’s a reassurance for couples that come rain or shine, they’ve chosen their wedding photographer well for his reliability as well as for the amazing images he’ll create with them on the day.

Engagement photography - a loving couple

Tom and Laura are very much in love and it shows in their eyes, their faces, the way they stand so close

When I asked about engagement photography sessions for the blog, Manchester photographer Neil Redfern promised me a very special shoot with Tom and Laura – and this certainly has everything you could ask for from a pre-wedding photo shoot!

Hugo is the star of this blog feature, but what really makes this collection stand out for me is Tom and Laura’s family. I love the romantic photos of Tom’s mum and dad – they look as head over heels in love as any newly engaged couple I’ve seen!

Tom explains how his family focused engagement shoot came about. “I really wanted to have some beautiful family photos taken to give as gifts for Christmas presents this year. My sister has a young family and I have just got engaged to the girl I have been with since I was 18, so I thought it was a great time to do it. We are a REALLY close family so I love the idea of having all these  amazing photos of us looking happy and healthy.”

Couple eclipsed by sunshine

Lee and Hayley are eclipsed by beautiful sunshine in Chris Hanley's first stunning shot

Top of my list of photo shoots to show you in e-shoot week is Lee and Hayley’s Manchester engagement shoot by Chris Hanley Photography. Chris takes the concept of an e-shoot and runs with it, creating images which you’ll treasure as much as you do your wedding photography.

Lee and Hayley chose a master photographer and have an exceptional engagement album to treasure – and these are some favourites from the day.

Vanessa on the wedding bus: a beautiful bride, beautifully photographed.

This latest wedding feature from the blog of Manchester photographer Neil Redfern is like a step back in time. With everything from handmade bunting to a vintage bus – and not just your usual red London bus – this is gorgeous!

If you’re planning a vintage wedding, Vanessa and Michael’s day should be the perfect inspiration to fill you with amazing ideas!
