Oh thank goodness it’s Friday at last! I’ve been looking forward to sharing this beautiful wedding with you lovely lot all week! Our gorgeous couple are childhood sweethearts Joe and Kerry, who were married in church and celebrated at The Old Royal Naval College in Greenwich.

Their day is classic and beautiful – the dress is stunning and traditional with gorgeous, intricate detailing and a full skirt. Joe’s suit is accessorised with pretty pale pink accents, which tie in with Kerry’s bouquet and the lovely bridesmaids’ dresses. The day is pretty and feminine, luxurious and full of love and laughter – it’s a perfect way to end our week, and I hope you love this as much as I do!

Sometimes you see an image which stays in your mind for the whole day. I get it all the time – looking at the fabulous yellow flowers from today’s real wedding I find myself feeling as though summer has barely begun! (Can you believe it’s November already?!)

Let’s explain the name first of all, shall we? Howling Basset is named for Andy’s two adorable basset hounds, who feature in his business logo! Andy started Howling Basset back in 2004 and in 10 years has become one of Kent’s leading wedding photographers, shooting nearly 700 weddings. This level of wedding experience means he’s calm, professional and unobtrusive, helping him to best capture the full story on your biggest day.

Morning everyone! I hope you’re having a nice day so far. How about a beautiful real wedding blog to brighten your morning a little? Yep – I thought so 🙂 Today I’m sharing an elegantly styled, classic wedding from Chilston Park in Kent. Camilla and Luke went for a very classic look for their day, complementing their striking wedding venue with pretty, delicate and elegant touches.

This morning we have two very personal and traditional weddings in one – with Tamara and Joseph’s wedding at Lympne Castle. With two ceremonies – Church of England and Catholic – over two days, there is plenty here for you to enjoy. Tamara looks so beautiful in both of her wedding dresses and while her very handsome groom Joseph wears a traditional suit with red accessories.

wedding photography kent by Aaron Tommasi (1)

This wedding is very special because it’s so personal to the bride and groom. Tamara’s mum made both of her wedding dresses, as well as her lace jacket and the red accessories for the men. Tamara made her wedding stationery, and favourite moments include the wedding readings and speeches – all in all, two days to remember for all the right reasons.

I’m delighted to be sharing images by the lovely Kent wedding photographer Aaron Tommasi with you today. Do have a look at Aaron’s own blog of this wedding – he mentions that Tamara and Joseph insisted he join them as a guest for the wedding buffet as well, which is such a lovely thing to do. Thank you to Aaron, and to such a fantastic bride and groom for sharing this wedding with us today! Enjoy! Claire xxx

I love it when couples are brave with their colour scheme, or the structure of their wedding day, or have details which they love so much they know they’ll work! Such was the case with Steph and Dave’s wedding. The colour scheme was red and purple; the theme for the day was travel. And it looks gorgeous, don’t you think?!

Steph and Dave have shared a fantastic wedding report with us. They chose photographer Andrew Billington to document their day – and he did so beautifully. Enjoy the blaze of lush colours; the magical moments and most of all, the honest and gorgeous laughter of bride Steph. She’s just stunning!

Enjoy!

Who proposed, and how?

Dave proposed to Steph while on a weekend away to Windsor. We had gone to one of our favourite restaurants, Cafe Rouge, and come back to our hotel room where Dave got down on one knee and popped the question with Steph’s Gran’s ring which he had managed to get from Steph’s family in secret. It was a total surprise and after several seconds of complete shock Steph said yes!

I doff my hat to Felicity this morning for the best wedding report of the summer! She married Simon in July. Their Kent wedding – at the Great Barn Rolvenden – is absolutely beautiful, full of wedding ideas for details and creative, rustic touches. And it’s a home made affair with plenty of DIY inspiration for all of you lovely brides and grooms out there.

Wedding ideas from Kent (35)

Felicity and Simon chose Kent wedding photographer Rebecca Douglas to capture all the glorious details of their day. Before I hand over to Felicity I’d like to thank Felicity, Simon and Rebecca for sharing such a gorgeous wedding on my blog. You’re wonderful, inspiring people and you’ve really made me smile today! Thank you.

Everyone else – enjoy. This is gorgeous…

The wedding ceremony:

The Ceremony was in the barn itself, with all our guests. We were lucky because the barn has two floors at slightly different heights, so we were able to use a separate area for the ceremony and reception.

Today is for any English Wedding Blog readers who haven’t considered an ordinary village hall as a reception venue. I love the idea of a wedding celebration somewhere like this – yes, it takes hours of work. But Gemma and John’s wedding will show you the transformation is more than possible…

wedding blog funkypixel photography (29)

Gemma and John were married earlier this year in Kent. They had a church ceremony and with the help of Gemma’s mum, transformed a village hall into a fairytale wedding venue for a princess bride!

Think pink pom-poms, fairy lights, handmade table decorations, wishing trees… it’s gorgeous. No apologies for this fabulously pink, beautiful dream of an English Wedding. The photography is by lovely James Heffernan at funkypixel; the wedding report is by the beautiful bride Gemma.

Who proposed, and how? John proposed on a family holiday in Menorca 2011, on stage in front of a room full of people! He got down on one knee and pulled out a beautiful ring and of course I said yes!

I can’t leave you on a Friday without sharing a real wedding – and this one begins with a proposal story which will send you weak at the knees! Darren went all out to propose to Angie in the most romantic way imaginable: Romeo and Juliet have nothing on these two!

The wedding itself, with photography by Tony Gameiro, is a beautiful occasion. Darren and Angie married at Turkey Mill in Kent, a lovely venue with a pagoda for weddings outside. The pictures tell the story of their day, with moments that will make you smile, chuckle and quite possibly bring a tear to your eye. It’s a gorgeous wedding with a stunning bride and tall, dark, handsome groom… what more could we ask for?

Enjoy!

wedding photography blog (8)Anyone who knows me at all will be chuckling already – I couldn’t possibly say no to a wedding from The Blazing Donkey* now, could I?! This is John and Lynette’s wedding day, and it happens to be a really lovely wedding with lots of personal touches and a fantastic couple who created something really special with a 1950s wedding theme.

Allison from Reading-based Magic Photography submitted this wedding for my blog. She’s also a friend of the bride – who is a photographer too! – so the intimate moments here are truly relaxed and I feel like I’m leafing through John and Lynette’s wedding album as a friend – all of the photographs are so natural and lovely.

Lynette looks beautiful with her birdcage veil. I adore all the little details she got together and (as well as the name of the venue) I think you’ll chuckle at the location… watch for the sign!

Loulabelle (aka Louise) became a friend and a regular source of hilarity as I followed her wedding blog at Met My Match through 2011. As a writer she is simply wonderful. I believe I may have begged to blog her wedding. There’s no shame in that. Such an enterprising, intelligent, creative and beautiful lady?! I had to see her wedding pics!

So Louise planned her countryside creative wedding with a fabulous vintage twist. One thing I hadn’t seen on her blog was that Garry, her groom, was a policeman. Cue vintage police car as a surprise – along with the loveliest driver to chauffeur the boys around.

Of course Louise’s own beloved Bertie (the Beetle) took pride of place carrying the bride and her dad to the church…

As a surprise I’d arranged a vintage police car to collect Garry, his best man and two ushers who are all Metropolitan Police Officers. The driver Ernie, was fantastic! He even wore his old uniform to add to the experience. Garry was so chuffed when he saw the Police Car rock up outside his best man’s. And the driver was just sooooooooooooo lovely!!!

A quick game of chess at this St Augustine's Priory wedding

Antonina Mamzenko (Memories Enclosed) sent me this incredibly beautiful wedding from St Augustine’s Priory in Kent. Gemma and Rob had a small and intimate wedding with just 16 guests, and arranged the whole day in just 10 weeks. They did a wonderful job and for its cosy character and charm this has to be one of my favourite weddings so far this year.

A wedding doesn’t need to be a huge party with all your university mates and distant cousins. All you need is your nearest and dearest family and friends – and as Rob and Gemma’s wedding day clearly shows, this can be the most beautiful and memorable celebration of your love.
