Let’s fill our Friday with a real wedding – and a blast of colour, fun, love and joy with our gorgeous couple Lauren & Lewis. These two chose Thornton Manor’s Lakeside Marquee to celebrate their love, with elements of Chinese and Malaysian culture bringing the party to life! Images are by Jules Fortune Photography, who gets a glowing review from the happy couple.

How did you choose your photographer?

Months of searching online and recommendations, we wanted a natural vibe to our pictures with nothing too staged, and when we found Jules we knew she was exactly what we were looking for.

Were you pleased with your wedding photographer? Do tell… we love a brilliant review!

We absolutely adored working with Jules! We aren’t fans of staged photos and she managed to capture the whole day magically, from an entirely candid perspective. Jules got in and amongst us, without us really even noticing she was there. She made us feel relaxed and her warm and lovely personality made her a delight to have at our special day.

I’ll never tire of seeing my laptop screen full of wonderfully sunny sunflowers – and this June wedding is one of the sunfloweriest I’ve ever seen… it’s like a blast of sunshine and smiles and I know I’ll be grinning all day now. I so hope this one gets you the same way – it’s amazing!

Rebecca and John were married in June at Browsholme Hall, inside the 15th century stone barn which they filled with gorgeous yellow accents and sunflowers to bring their wedding ceremony and reception bursting alive with colour. They’re a lovely couple, and I’m thrilled to be sharing their wedding on the blog with you today.

You absolutely mustn’t miss Rebecca’s interview at the end of the blog feature – her top tip for other brides is about choosing your bridesmaids. Rebecca told me her best girls were amazing: they looked after her every moment of the wedding day, keeping her wine glass full, fixing her hair, handing her lipstick and dancing with her all night!

Today’s bride Louise has a smile which could light up any room – she’s stunning. She’s also a real star for writing an amazing wedding report and sharing tips and experiences of her day.

Louise married Gary in April this year, and their Manchester & Cheshire wedding was gorgeous, but not without incident. Louise told me their wedding cake didn’t quite go to plan (read about that later); also there were tears as her Grandad had to go to hospital after a fall on the day but this fantastic family all came together and made the wedding a day to remember.

The styling of the day is beautiful. Louise told me their reception venue – The Pointing Dog in Cheadle – “was perfect as it was all stag horns, crates, cool seating, wooden boards and natural walls. We just added flowers for the tables and a few other bits and pieces“.

I think it’s amazing – but only a fraction as amazing as the couple themselves. Louise and Gary are gorgeous, creative and fun-loving – the perfect bride and groom!

There’s nothing worse than being told what you “should” have for your wedding, is there? Saul and Michelle’s Northamptonshire wedding is creative, simple and looks every bit the occasion to remember forever. With images by Jules Fortune Photography and two fab venues: Boughton House and The Marquess of Exeter.

Savvy brides and grooms are planning ever more personal celebrations with a focus on the special touches they love best. That’s what Michelle and Saul did, choosing to ditch the seating plan for informal dining. They chose two fabulous venues which didn’t need extra decoration, and included family in creating a wonderful day: Michelle’s cousin played guitar, their sisters did wedding readings, and family members contributed gorgeous little treats for an oh-so-yummy-looking dessert table. Overall – an amazing, very personal, family-oriented wedding day. I love it.

With congratulations and thanks to the very lovely Michelle and Saul for sharing their wedding on the English Wedding Blog this morning. Read their wedding report at the end of the blog post for great advice from spreadsheet queen Michelle! Huge thanks also to wedding photographer Jules Fortune for submitting their Northamptonshire wedding to the English Wedding Blog.
