My wonderful readers, I hope you’re ready for a truly magical Christmas. We’ve had a crazy busy, beautiful month and now I’m looking forward to snuggles and fairy lights, Baileys on tap and lots of precious moments with family and friends. I hope wherever you are, whatever your plans, you will have a relaxing, restorative and peaceful festive season. We will – of COURSE! – be filling our pages over the Christmas period with some stunning real weddings, tips and advice for all of you lovely brides and grooms to be!

Over the next couple of weeks we’re looking back at some of my favourite weddings of the year. We’ve asked our brides and grooms to share their top tips on how to save for your wedding, and where to splash out. And we’ll be sharing their words of wisdom – with some absolutely brilliant advice for planning, stopping and taking it all in, and more!

I think I’m about to talk about the C word… I mean, we’re just over 9 weeks away, and I know I’m starting to think about fairy lights and baubles – and hey, I LOVE Christmas!!! So today I wanted to introduce you to a really cute idea from new English Wedding members Pink Positive. Their super cute personalised prezzies are such a lovely idea – I hope you’ll love these!

When there’s a wedding taking over your life, Christmas can throw a bit of a curveball – and coming up with the ideal present for brides-to-be or newlywed couples means extra thinking time! You want to give something really special, something to commemorate the occasion – perhaps it’s their first Christmas in a new home together, or even their first married Christmas. That’s where Pink Positive comes in.

They’ve launched a collection of personalised Christmas gifts, especially for brides-to-be and newlywed couples.

What a whirlwind last year was! I hope 2017 has been as wonderful for you as it has for us here at the English Wedding Blog HQ. Time to start afresh, relax and rewind, and make some lovely plans for the year ahead. If you’re thinking ahead to your 2018 wedding (eeekkk!!) and looking for a project or a crafty little challenge for the year ahead, I might just have the perfect solution.

We all LOVE a bit of wedding crafting. Over the last year or so DIY weddings have become so much more sophisticated – and one of my very favourite things is seeing couples learning from the experts. Courses on flower arranging, cake design and more have caught our attention – but my personal favourite will always be calligraphy. It’s such a lovely hobby – it will stay with you for life, and having the skills to write your own invitations, design your own stationery – and add that personal touch to everything.
