We’ve featured some incredible bouquets on English Wedding in recent weeks – and with Valentine’s Day this weekend it inspired me to put a little collection together to inspire you! I’ve had a little whizz through our recent archives and found these stunning wedding flower ideas. There’s something for everyone – real flowers for every season, in every colour you can dream of. Some of our favourite bouquets are wild and flowing; others neat and pretty. There are bouquets with oodles of foliage; and some with simple blooms and statement flowers. And we’ve picked (pun intentional!) examples from florists around the UK to share with you today. I hope you fall in love with some of these – do Pin away if your Pinterest boards are ready for some floral inspiration!
I know this year’s been a rollercoaster for all of you – Covid has hit us hard, and we still don’t know how or when we’ll come out of this safely. 2020 sucks! I’ve kind of taken it upon myself to share as many micro wedding related ideas as I possibly can. Small, intimate and cosy weddings are magical, I promise. If you’re planning your day for 2021 perhaps it’ll be very different to the wedding you originally had in mind. But the wedding industry is adjusting: photographers are coming up with special packages for smaller weddings; stationers are creating all kinds of “new date” wedding invites – and today I’m thrilled to be sharing some glorious bouquets especially for intimate weddings. Which is your favourite?

This one’s for all of you lovely brides and grooms considering alternatives to the traditional wedding bouquet and arrangements. Inspired by a press release which landed in my inbox the other week – it was one of those where I disagreed with pretty much every word! – I just had to write a little about wedding flowers.
Too many couples – if the report is to be believed – think wedding flowers are overpriced (they’re not).
If there was another job I wish I could do – if I’d trained, had talent and wasn’t freaked out by spiders(!) or really early wake ups – I’d be a florist. I’d grow my own flowers and style beautiful, modern weddings in a wildflowery, informal and breathtaking boho style. I’m lucky to have gotten to know some amazing folks in the wedding flowers game since I started the English Wedding Blog, and Claire from Wild Spirit is one of the very best – her eye for styling is just spot on, every single time.
I think my bouquet would be one of my most exciting wedding purchases – and definitely one of the trickiest to decide on! I love all the flowers (oh! except gerberas and gypsophila!) – so I dream of a tumbling armful of peonies and dahlias, tulips and ferns, hellebores and sweet peas… in all the colours. I fall for a new favourite flower every season so it’s pretty certain I’d be a challenge for any florist… but I know what we’d do: simply find a florist whose own style we adore, and trust them implicitly to create something spectacular! However… as this week is all about our favourite wedding ideas, here’s a beautiful curation of all of our favourite bouquets from the English Wedding Blog! I hope it helps you pin down your flower style!
