I’m a matchmaker. The best definition for what I do is that I introduce you lovely people planning your weddings to the most amazing photographers, suppliers and creatives I know. And I know a LOT of those – the English Wedding Blog has been around since 2009! So by sharing beautiful weddings, asking our featured brides and grooms to share their recommendations on every blog post, and keeping in touch with suppliers all around the UK, I can make sure you’re seeing the very best the English wedding industry has to offer. The English Wedding Directory is where you can find all of our favourite wedding suppliers, and is full of brilliant photographers, stationers, florists, stylists, designers… everything you might need for the wedding of your dreams!

Wivenhoe House in Essex is a beautiful contradiction of two worlds: historic grandeur and sleek contemporary lines. For wedding guest accommodation it looks stunning; for celebrating your day with loved ones its modern garden room provides chic and elegant styling while the historic house has old English character – ideal for romantic wedding photography.

Our lovely friend and Essex wedding photographer Ayshea Goldberg spent a beautiful day at Wivenhoe photographing this stunning wedding editorial to share with us.

The contemporary garden room inspired the modern styling of Luca’s Cakes wedding cake – a showstopper if ever I saw one! – while the beautiful gowns, blousy florals and romantic colour palette are timeless and ultra feminine.

Today’s wedding is just stunning – I especially adore the vibrant floral arrangements, and the bride and groom are gorgeous!! Ventnor Botanic Garden is a revelation…what a beautiful location with all those tropical plants… if I was on the Isle of Wight I’d be making a beeline for the place to find out more!

Erika’s dress is fabulously different and she looks amazing – while Justin is equally gorgeous and beaming with happiness (I wish I could hear his speech – the photos don’t do it justice!) So grab a cuppa and find a comfy chair, enjoy this lovely pair’s fabulous wedding pics, and have the most wonderful Friday everyone!!

The boutique I like to think of as my ‘local’ is Julia Tasker‘s stunning designer wedding dress shop in beautiful Windermere. Julia is a stockist and passionate advocate for Sassi Holford wedding dresses, and through her I have become just as much of a fan. Sassi Holford’s collections always take my breath away, and 2019’s Enchanted Collection is no exception. With Sassi’s signature silhouettes and modern luxury fabrics, this latest launch from one of my absolute favourite designers is as enchanting as it is Enchanted.

Sassi Holford’s captivating 2019 Enchanted Collection is inspired by nature and romance and focuses on texture and light.

If you’re looking to incorporate bright, vibrant colours into your wedding styling and need a theme to tie it all together, peacocks are the perfect inspiration. Wedding trends come and go, but peacock styling ideas are revisited and reinvented every season – this is one of my absolute favourites using fabulously colourful florals, coloured table decorations and glitter art for a whole new dimension of wedding make up art! Lovely Sarah Wayte shared her images with us, and Karen Luxford, the talented planner who coordinated this editorial photoshoot, tells us a little more. It all takes place at Moor Hall wedding venue, and there’s a full list of the brilliant Essex wedding suppliers involved at the end of the blog post!
