When you start to plan your wedding, your first key points are likely to be Venue, Photographer, Florist, Dress, Cake.

Then you start to sort seating plans and timelines. The registrar has you booked for a 12pm wedding. The venue has you booked for a sit down dinner at 4pm… UH OH… that’s a big gap from 12.30pm til at least 3.30pm when the venue starts seating your guests.

Hey lovelies! As you read this I’ll be on top of a mountain, somewhere in the Lake District. (We’re using up my man’s holidays while the sun shines!) I’ve had this gorgeous wedding up my sleeve for some time now – Henna and Jason are a stunning couple and their day is full of joy and love and life – it’s just beautiful. Henna is also a talented modern calligrapher, and her vow booklets are exquisite. As calligraphy is my thing I fell head over heels with these and couldn’t resist sharing them with you! The wedding took place just before lockdown at the beginning of the year.

As micro weddings settle into all of our future plans, we’re loving the creative suppliers out there working hard to show how beautiful they can be. Lovely Tania from Hire Societies has been inspiring and reassuring couples on her instagram over recent months with some fabulous ideas for micro weddings. I’m thrilled to be sharing this inspiration from Tania and a lovely bunch of creatives today!
With love,

I wanted the table to be full of flowers and decor which is an upcoming trend for 2021 ‘Grand-Millennium’. I wanted to empathize with texture and pattern but still keeping it modern and chic.

Did you know we have 3,000 blog posts on English Wedding? All of the real weddings we’ve featured over the last few years, all the advice we’ve shared and styled photoshoots our members and friends have created – it really adds up! I’d like to say a huge thank you to everyone who’s been featured on the website over recent years and months – and we’re looking forward to the next 3,000 blog posts!

Let’s start the week with a reminder of how amazing things used to be…. and a reminder that they WILL get back to normal. We don’t know when, but there WILL be hugs and parties and gatherings of favourite people and love and romance and just pure joy with bunches of happy humans all celebrating together. Hang in there, everyone… In the meantime let’s look back on a super glamorous and FUN wedding with our fabulous friends and London wedding photographers York Place Studios. Gorgeous Ally & Alex’s black tie wedding took place at Hedsor House – and despite the rain this gorgeous pair had a BLAST! I love how the story of their wedding builds in excitement and joy through their wedding photographs: from the nerves and closeness of Ally’s bridal prep through the romantic ceremony, super classy reception and the amazing party vibes at the end of the day. This is a beauty of a wedding!
