Somerley Estate sits right on the Dorset and Hampshire borders and is the stunning backdrop for this inspiration shoot. A privately owned home and wedding venue, the house was designed in 1750 and has been in the Normanton family for five generations. Somerley is gorgeous, (very) grand and has a lot of history. With this shoot I wanted to bring a little piece of understated contemporary style to blend with the traditional luxury surroundings.

I still dream of Italian summers, more years than I can count after living there. Such a beautiful country inspires the prettiest of wedding decor, and today’s shoot captures the essence of an intimate Italian destination wedding so beautifully.
So dream yourself away with me to an Italian castle where dreams come true. Picture the scene: a beautiful English bride with her gorgeous groom and their adorable son escape to be married, Italian style.
Chair covers can hide a multitude of stains, scrapes and unsightly patterns… but let’s be honest, those white polyester covers are pretty hideous! I’ve never been a fan – I cannot understand why some venues still provide grotty chairs which need to be hidden, while others simply buy beautiful Chiavari or elegant wooden chairs for their weddings! Luckily lovely Hollie from Daisy Says I Do has shared her simple solutions with us today.

Sometimes images speak for themselves; sometimes they sing. Today’s billowing, seaweed-scented shoot has a yearning, breathtaking aesthetic which lightens my heart with its beauty. Styled by the wonderful Serpentine Shores Co. and photographed by Salt & Sea Photography, it’s simply perfect and will appeal to beach brides everywhere.
Bleak, wild, billowing and windswept; our inspiration for this shoot was stories of mythology, both Celtic and Classical. Particularly stories based around the coast and ocean. Stories foretelling of the sea’s peculiar, poetic and enigmatic nature. Subtly, our narrative was one of a sailor, a shipwreck, a sea spirit and a Shakespearean storm.
Today’s shoot will inspire brides and suppliers alike – it’s gorgeously full of all the little details we LOVE here on the English Wedding Blog, and all done by NEW wedding businesses from Lancashire. Starting a wedding business is hard – having the passion to create beautiful inspiration pieces like this is amazing and will, I’m sure, contribute to the long term success of these amazing new vendors!
