It’s never been easier to have the wedding YOU want – be that a festival-inspired party, a woodland celebration, an farm or barn wedding – traditional venues are almost a thing of the past! And over the years our appetite for sunny weddings abroad has become more and more apparent. Perhaps our unpredictable English weather plays a large part in that, but for others it could be the sometimes misconceived notion that a wedding abroad is less expensive that a wedding in the UK.
I’d LOVE to run away to Italy and elope, strolling hand in hand with my guy through characterful streets in the Mediterranean sunshine. Wouldn’t it just be a dream come true? Today’s wedding inspiration comes from the fabulous team at Aspire Photography Training, with styling by Catherine Connor and photography by Jenny Heyworth. They lived my dream this summer, taking a trip across to Venice to create this sublime elopement shoot.
I love working with the Aspire team. They’re creative, fun and just have an instinct for styling the loveliest wedding inspiration. The little details matter too, and I was thrilled to be asked to send some of my calligraphy over to Venice with them!
Happy Saturday lovely people! I hope you have a wonderful day planned – we’re in Manchester after an amazing concert last night, and heading back on the train to our lovely Lake District very soon. But first – I wanted to show you something really inspiring and gorgeous and fun: a beautifully lit, romantic wedding in Mexico. If you’re lucky enough to have a summer wedding outdoors in the UK, how about some amazing lighting like this to make your evening reception spectacular?!

I remember being so excited when Louise Adby first got in touch in the summer with a beautiful Cold Harbour Barn wedding – it truly was such a wonderfully romantic English wedding and a perfect fit for our lovely blog! A few months later and I’m more than thrilled to be welcoming lovely Louise as an English Wedding Blog sponsor.
Louise’s photography combines the very best of contemporary fine art style with all the wonderful storytelling of reportage wedding photography. “I love the contrast between raw spontaneous moments set against beautiful composed portraits, but portraits that have feeling and a connection between the couple.
