Elopements and escapes are a big part of modern wedding planning! I hear you – all that planning is too crazy, so why not pack your favourite people onto a little plane and head away somewhere sunny to get wed in a beautiful intimate celebration overseas? If travelling is your thing, then a destination wedding could be right up your street. Just keep it simple, don’t forget your trousers (like our friend did – and he realised on the day of his wedding!) and remember to celebrate with a massive party when you get home!

This dreamy editorial captures hazy Italian days in the most beautiful way. Imagine it’s summertime and you’re miles away from anywhere in the Italian countryside, with a villa of your own for the week of your wedding day – and everything is simply perfect. I adore the lush bouquet by Shining Flowers, the dreamy tablescape by Elisabetta Carraretto and the wonderfully floaty gown by the fabulous Jurgita Bridal.

It’s all captured beautifully by Sonya Lalla Photography, a Tuscany, Florence and Rome destination elopement photographer. Sonya is known for her romantic and delicate photographic style, and got in touch with me a little while ago to ask for some calligraphy pieces for this shoot.

What could be a more romantic setting than the Italian countryside, a monastery no less, set amongst rolling hillsides and with its very own vineyard? The Favari Monastery dates from the 17th century and has been beautifully renovated as a destination wedding venue. For today’s English Wedding feature, the monastery serves as a beautiful backdrop for a group of local wedding suppliers who came together to create a lush, modern wedding style complete with al fresco table settings and a bride and groom just radiant with Italian style!

I would love so much to be a henna artist, wouldn’t you? To design temporary but stunningly beautiful mehandi on skin, to create intricately detailed decoration for a bride on her best day… to have even the tiniest little bit of these guys’ talent… So forgive me for focusing rather a lot on the images of Gaayatri’s beautiful henna art on the morning of her wedding to David.

Today’s gorgeous bride and groom chose a destination wedding in the Champagne region of France. Their August wedding was held at Chateau de Mairy, in the small village of Mairy Sur Marne. I love the bright sunflowers and relaxed atmosphere of their day – it all looks so sunny and beautiful!
