An intimate celebration of love – pared back wedding styling inspo from Lainston House
Today’s inspiration feature is wonderfully stripped back, individual and super beautiful – from a group of small independent wedding suppliers at Lainston House.

“We wanted to involve smaller independent suppliers, Karolina Grycko who made the cakes, White Designs Bridal, Hampshire Slate, and Byootefel. Having the opportunity for them to work alongside established talent like Brides of Winchester, Little Lillies and Hayley Savage Photography, who was our photographer for the day, was a great collaboration opportunity for everyone involved.
We choose Lainston House as the venue for the photo shoot, as it is the most beautiful backdrop and has such a variety of places to shoot. The woods in the ground were perfect for our “ceremony” and really captured the essence of the shoot; rustic, simple and about two people dedicating their lives to each other.
We asked Owen at Little Lillies for bouquets that were individual, wild and free. Giving him a brief colour palette to work with he came up with two absolutely stunning creations for our brides. Him working organically on location was a joy to witness!
The dresses chosen for the shoot were a real reflection of the personalities of the characters the models were portraying. For Kyla we choose a simple bias cut dress called Payton by Charlie Brear. A very minimalist look with no structure to the dress, which just draped off her beautiful curves and perfectly complemented her statement hair style which was created by Lisa at Byootefel. Siân created an understated, glowing, natural makeup look to continue on that effortless theme. We chose a hair vine by White Designs to soften the style and later on in the shoot we added a leather jacket to give her look a laid-back, cool vibe.
For Jade, we wanted a more girly look so choose a dress by Pronovias called Ashley. We didn’t want to be too obviously by putting her in a princess, tulle dress, but this gown with subtle sparkle and simple but glamourous column skirt was perfect. Like Kyla’s it was easy to move in, which is what we felt our brides would want but still showed off her figure. The dress has a slight Great Gatsby feel to it, so Siân used a soft berry stained lip to go with the soft smokey eye makeup she created and Lisa incorporated a stunning browband by White Designs into her hair styling, which really set the look off.
Karolina turned up with two absolutely mouthwateringly beautiful cakes. A smaller chocolate and peanut butter one, and a gorgeous white chocolate tiered cake. Simply decorated with fruit and flowers. We were all looking forward to the end of the shoot so we could have a taste! They definitely did not disappoint on the flavour front!
Lastly but definitely not least Jennifer Moyes captured the whole day in moving picture and created a gorgeous film for us. We’ll be showing this on our Facebook page around teatime… don’t miss it! The soundtrack is “Luna” by Charlotte Black.
