You can choose to exchange vows in the historic Mill Barn or beneath a custom-built arbour within the beautiful walled garden.

I was quietly chuffed when the guys from Pennard House got in touch to show me their stunning news – because a) I love discovering new venues and b) when real artists get involved in their design and styling it’s pretty damn incredible… especially when someone like Frederick Wimsett is commissioned to paint on the walls!

The best venues are timeless and inspiring in their architecture and design. Think of some of our most magnificent venues with their grand portraits, chandeliers and sculptures. Those features will add atmosphere to your wedding photos for years and years… and now Pennard House has something pretty amazing and unique to offer brides and grooms too.

Frederick’s exquisitely handpainted murals will cover the walls of The Orchard Room at Pennard House – a newly renovated bedroom to be used as the bridal suite at one of our most exciting and historical wedding venues.

Frederick’s murals cover the walls of the rich, famous and creative… Alice Temperley (Temperley Bridal) and Kate Moss are just some of his (super exciting!) clients.

Good morning everyone! I hope your week is going well. I have so many things to share with you, my list of blog submissions for fabulous shoots and real weddings is growing and my editorial calendar for July is pretty full… with a little space for anything really special that comes along, so do get in touch if you have a feature for me! In the meantime, I’d love for you to join me today on a virtual trip around beautiful Sandon Hall.

I’ve been chatting on email to Sandon Hall’s resident flower expert, the lovely Breige. We share a love of English country garden flowers for weddings and I’m really looking forward to sharing more floral inspiration from Sandon Hall on the English Wedding Blog over the summer. Already a stunning wedding venue, Sandon Hall looks absolutely incredible when the rooms are filled with flowers, and for Staffordshire couples I don’t think there’s a better choice of wedding venue.

Cheshire is known for being one of the more affluent locations in the UK (to put it mildly), and as a result, there is no shortage of grand and impressive privately owned buildings in such towns as Knutsford, Macclesfield and Chester. In the heart of the Cheshire countryside, one such Cheshire wedding venue – a magnificent manor estate – is happy to welcome couples and their families for a wedding day they’ll never forget.

Colshaw Hall is a lovingly restored, Grade II listed house and has been given plenty of attention by owners the Irlam family, and being located in Knutsford, the hall is perfectly situated for those in the North West after a luxury wedding venue for a perfect day. The country surroundings offer a peaceful and tranquil environment and a welcome degree of privacy, whilst the Hall allows for a grand backdrop and highlights the splendour of the event.

When it comes to planning your wedding day, choosing your venue is perhaps the most important decision you have to make. It’s almost up there with choosing the bride’s dress! There are so many facets that make a venue right for your big day and it can be difficult to find one that satisfies every requirement.

There is so much to think about, so I am sharing this interview with you today to set you thinking about your wedding venue: what to look for, questions to ask and how to choose the right venue for you as a couple. With thanks to Yorkshire wedding venue Wentbridge House for the interview!

Wentbridge House is quite unique in that it has a church next door – do you work alongside the church?

Although religious wedding ceremonies are less common than in years gone by, a large percentage of couples still wish to get married in a church.
Of course, this adds another factor to consider, as you search for a suitable venue that has a perfect church in close proximity.

The birthplace of a celebrated romantic poet… on the edge of the Lake District… a National Trust property with endless charm, Wordsworth House is a beautiful wedding venue for a romantic ceremony.

Wordsworth House wedding venue makes history

Wordsworth House & Garden was the childhood home of William Wordsworth in the 1770s and the gardens inspired many of his poems. The house was licensed for weddings on the 6th of August 2012 and is the first National Trust property in the county to be licensed for civil ceremonies.

Natalie and Ian O’Neill jumped at the chance to make history by being the first couple to tie the knot at the unique venue. Theirs was the first ever wedding ceremony at the childhood home of the 19th century Poet Laureate William Wordsworth.

Bride Natalie said, “The ceremony in Wordsworth House was really intimate and the gardens were looking beautiful so the photo opportunities were amazing. By getting married on a Friday when the house is closed, we had it to ourselves so there were no other people running around. It was so special.

I’m putting my feet up to bring you another guest blog post for you today! Let’s face it: wedding bloggers don’t know everything and Sebastian is better placed to share this wedding venue advice than I am! If you’re a bride or groom struggling to find a wedding venue you can afford, this is for you:

Claire has some great articles about finding a fantastic wedding venue, which is definitely worth a read, and can be found here. With that in mind, I thought it’d be great to cover something much more narrow.

One of the most specific concerns of engaged couples is, understandably, cost. Never fear! It’s a lot easier than most people think to have the wedding of their dreams without taking out a second mortgage. I’ve come up with a list of five helpful tips geared toward saving money without compromising class.

1. Always accept help

Many venues offer packages including things like entertainment, place cards, flower arrangements and labour.

Well hello! I’ll get the gushy stuff out of the way first.

Well this is a bit overwhelming, isn’t it? Little old me? Blogging on English Wedding? I am honoured, flattered and just a little bit excited, that I get to share everything about my forthcoming wedding and marriage with all of you lovely readers! Thank you all for your votes and your kind support. I hope I can pass on what I have learnt by immersing myself in wedding talk and wedding blogs and wedding decisions – over the past 2o months I have spent engaged to Richard – about love, marriage, weddings and life!

I’m a very organised girl – sometimes a little too organised (you’ll find out why very soon) – and I have wedding spreadsheets. And I love them. (Although I can’t wait to delete them one day and feel total liberation!) However I’ll spare you the spreadsheets, and instead start every post with the number of days until I become a Mrs!

So, starting off with a very nice round number…
