If you read the blog on Monday you’ll know I was still feeling blissfully relaxed and spoilt after a wonderful weekend courtesy of The Wordsworth Hotel & Spa in Grasmere. Regular readers will know the Lake District is my home, and every other (sunny!) weekend I’m to be found with my guy wandering up and down the mountains here. So to be offered a relaxing break on a rainy Saturday in February was a dream come true – and while we couldn’t tick off any summits this weekend, we had the most amazing time exploring Grasmere and The Wordsworth so we could tell you all about the place here on English Wedding.
I know a lot of you lovely brides and grooms to be live in and around Buckinghamshire – and today I have a very special feature for all of you. The charming folks at Stoke Place asked if we could come and visit their magnificent wedding venue and write about it on the blog. Luckily I was having an email chat with wedding photographer Damion Mower on the same day (Damion is one of our recommended wedding photographers and a regular feature on English Wedding) and he very kindly went along on behalf of us all to have a nosey around and tell us all about Stoke Place! – Damion, thank you! – It’s an incredibly beautiful venue with a choice of ceremony rooms and extensive landscaped gardens… as you’re about to see from the photos Damion took for us.
Good morning everybody! I hope you’re having a lovely weekend. This morning I have the absolute pleasure of welcoming Yorkshire’s new favourite wedding venue to the English Wedding Blog. Ox Pasture Hall has appeared on more wedding blogs in the last 12 months than I can count! It’s a beautifully restored and developed luxury country house nestled in the Forge Valley and is available for exclusive use hire, for outdoor weddings and for large or intimate celebrations.
I wish I could have taken you with me on Tuesday when I went to visit Broadoaks Country House in the Lake District. Since I came to live on the edge of the Lakes in 2012 I’ve visited a few venues but nothing comes close to the charm of this little gem. Broadoaks Country House is described as “one of the most romantic hotels in the UK” by the AA. The website promises “secluded gardens, a magical beck that runs through our grounds and the Lake District scenery… the perfect backdrop for romantic photographs”. And oh my goodness do they deliver on those promises, with bells on!
