Hello there beautiful! I hope you’re having a wonderful week. I’d like to make it just that little bit more lovely by offering you an exclusive saving on my next modern calligraphy workshop, which will be happening in Manchester on Saturday the 26th of May.

If you’re going to make your own invitations, place cards and table stationery for your wedding, attending a calligraphy workshop will be a massive help to you. You’ll learn how to make beautiful letter shapes, which will add so much personality to your wedding stationery. I’ve taught plenty of brides-to-be along with their mums, best friends and sisters… and the classes are a lovely way to spend a little relaxing time together too!

The English garden wedding theme is one – quite possibly the only one – which will always be on trend. We love the romance of our home-grown flowers, the greenery and scents of hazy summer days – and it’s a style which conjures up memories from childhood, days in the countryside and magical holidays close to home.

Greenery and statement blooms for an English garden wedding photographed by Bowtie and Belle (23)

Greenery is a huge thing for 2017 – and we love it to bits. This shoot is full of gorgeous foliage and fabulous styling with softer accent colours and statement blooms. Stylist Lauradana from Wedding Creations combines those gorgeous greens with white and soft pinks to create a feminine wedding style I know you’ll love.

Today’s real wedding is divine: a sophisticated celebration with such amazing attention to detail and almost too pretty for words. Doug and Kath were married in May, at Herefordshire venue How Caple Court. Their theme was vintage lace: the colours were soft and delicate lavenders – “dried lavender was scattered over the church porch floor, which when guests walked over, emitted a wonderful fragrance”.

Kath told me, “I say to all my friends and family that the photographer is the most important thing to splurge on. It’s the only thing you can look at after the day, and will be proof of all the memories.  We are so glad we invested in Gemma.”

There’s always a little nervous excitement when I receive a submission from the lovely Rob & Sarah Gillespie Photography. I know their images are outstanding, I know there’ll be an incredible selection to choose from, and I know I’ll want to show you every. single. one.
