Filly’s stunning vintage dress is from Days of Grace in Budleigh Salterton – their heirloom gowns are wonderful, made from vintage lace and perfect for a country wedding with a twist of boho. I love this! Filly and her girls had their hair done by Tara of Head Hair and Beauty – and they all look amazing.

Laura and David are amazing – a gorgeous couple who poured their hearts and souls into crafting a unique, creative and inspiring wedding. They made paper fans as alternative bunting hung all the way across the roof of their wedding marquee, which was decorated with corn dollies, lavender, vintage china… it looks amazing. The table plan is an ornate vintage frame; the guest book is adorably vintage and surrounded by family wedding photos. Their overall look is beautifully rustic and lovely wedding photographer Hayley Ruth sent me so many detail images I’m coming back tomorrow morning with a second, bonus, Get The Look blog feature!

vintage tea party wedding blog (1)

Laura has written an outstanding wedding report to share with us all, and it’s full of great advice, tips and stories for other brides and grooms as well as recommended wedding suppliers around Cambridgeshire. Oh and I love the story of how she and David met: on their first date after work they found themselves shaking hands on a spontaneous agreement to travel to Australia. 3 months later they went to Sydney together, and 7 years down the line they were married. And I’ve got all the images of their wedding to show you! Yay! Huge congratulations to a gorgeous couple, and big thanks to Laura and David, and to wedding photographer Hayley Ruth for submitting the images. Everyone – enjoy!

Hello again! I’m happy to be bringing you a little sprinkle of summer again this morning. Sophie and Jonathan had a lovely English country garden inspired wedding and were blessed with glorious sunshine. Today’s blog is full of the prettiest details in delicious pastels – and of course, a beautiful bride, handsome groom and some romantic moments to capture your heart.

English country garden wedding inspiration Ross Alexander Photography (1)

The images today come from Ross Alexander at Moment Photography. Sophie’s wedding report includes an amazing review for Ross along with details of other top wedding suppliers (check out the florist too! – wow!). The wedding reception was at The Castle Hotel in Taunton, Somerset.

So let’s have a look at all those beautiful photos and then read Sophie’s wedding report (at the end of the blog feature today). I should say a huge thank you to Sophie and Jonathan – and congratulations to you both! I’m so pleased to be sharing your wedding on the English Wedding Blog today (you’re making it look soooo pretty!). Thanks also to Ross aka Moment Photography for submitting this wedding 🙂 Claire xxx

Claire got in touch to tell me about her beautiful English wedding to Andrew. She won my heart with her very first email:

It’s not just about seeing all of the hours of work fiddling about with lace, pearls and pva glue come together. It’s about seeing loved ones there for you on your special day. My dad’s disability meant he was only able to have pictures with me before I left to get married. Luckily, I had one of the best photographers to take a few special pictures with my dad. Funkyphotographers, I am so grateful. He was part of my day as much as everyone else. The day ran like clockwork from my brother giving me away at Orleans House Gallery, to the boat trip along the Thames through Teddington lock. Our guests welcomed our arrival at The Lensbury to carry on the celebrations.

Hello, you lovely people! How is your morning going so far? I’m up to my nose in wedding place name cards today, but that definitely doesn’t mean I can’t share this fabulous wedding with you today. It’s a real feast for the eyes – Bianca and Christopher look great together, and they created a reception full of adorable details and creative touches. Watch out for the cake, the fabulous library, card table and oh! the bridesmaids and the bathtub!!!

Today is a day of little discoveries for you! I hope you’ll love this real wedding as much as I do – meet Claire and Rob, today’s gorgeous bride and groom. Their wedding in Leicestershire is full of vintage, floral touches and homemade decor – it’s really creative and right up my street!

Hi everyone! How are you today? I’m on my fourth coffee having just discovered the genius trick of mixing hot chocolate powder in with it. Just gorgeous, try it!! …but not as gorgeous as today’s real wedding blog and fab couple Lisa and Kieran. They married at Dorset’s finest wedding venue (imho) Athelhampton House. It’s a 15th century manor with tons of character and the perfect choice for a traditional English wedding with a dash of vintage.

real wedding blog by Ben Pipe Photography (1)

All the photos are by lovely wedding photographer Ben Pipe, with the exception of the three photos of Lisa’s handmade wedding invitation, table plan and alternative guest book. (What should I be calling a guest book which isn’t a guest book?! I’ve no idea!) She told me they were a labour of love and the invitations alone took more than 30 hours… but worth every second 🙂

Congratulations Lisa and Kieran, and thank you so much for being utterly fabulous and sharing your wedding day on the English Wedding Blog. Thanks to Ben Pipe too for the lovely wedding photos. Everyone – enjoy! Claire x

Hi everyone! Can I share a little of my lifestyle with you this morning? Picture yourself walking with me along the beach path near my house, listening to the waves and smelling the flowers before popping into the craft bakery on the seafront for a cupcake and a coffee… beautiful isn’t it?!

vintage wedding ideas shoot Lumiere Photography (1)

The two themes of countryside and vintage often tangle and twist together to create the most wonderful wedding styling. There’s something amusingly accurate in this: step into the local village hall for any kind of fayre or event and it really is like stepping back in time! It’s a good job we have wedding blogs to show how gorgeous ‘vintage’ styling can look…

Morning everyone! Are you having a lovely morning so far? I just love today’s wedding – however your day is going, this will put a smile on your face. Melissa and Richard had a handmade / vintage wedding at Hodsock Priory and it is simply gorgeous!

Vintage wedding at Hodsock Priory by Tierney Photography (1)

Melissa looks amazing in her Benjamin Roberts dress, Richard is rocking a suit from Next (only about a million miles better than Moss Bros, by the way!) and special credit goes to Melissa’s mum for all the handmade touches from bunting to fabric hearts and pocket squares – she even crafted the wedding invitations!

Little details include gourmet popcorn (I can almost taste it! And as I type it’s barely past breakfast time… not a good sign!), lovebirds on the cake and gorgeous gypsophila – my favourite. Huge thanks to Tierney Photography for the beautiful images – watch out for the portrait shots with snowflakes and stunning images of Hodsock Priory. Congratulations Melissa and Richard, and to every one of you lovely readers – enjoy! Claire xxx

It tickles me that today’s fab couple Sam and Hannah used Midsomer Murders as inspiration for their wedding in Norfolk. I love that little step further from vintage they’ve taken to create a beautifully styled and very English wedding. It really fires my imagination as well… how many TV-themed weddings can you imagine? Poirot? Blue Peter? I think it’s a great idea!

Norfolk wedding blog by Lifeline Photography (1)

Lenwade House was the setting for what turned out to be a wonderful wedding day with lovely styling and some beautiful moments. Both bride and groom look gorgeous and I know you’ll adore today’s real wedding on the blog. Thanks to Lifeline Photography – the very amazing Hannah Webster – for sharing images with us all today. (You absolutely have to check out lifelinephotography.co.uk where you’ll see Hannah change into a peacock!)

There are tons of ideas in today’s real wedding for you to take home and use as inspiration for your own wedding. Looking for a John Cleese impersonator? (Of course you were!) You’ll find him in the list of recommended wedding suppliers Hannah and Sam have included in their wedding report at the end of the blog! Enjoy. Claire xxx

When I read Vicky’s wedding report and saw all her lovely craft ideas I knew I had to feature her wedding to Ross on the blog. It’s just perfect – a very personal wedding day with lots of amazing ideas you can share. I love Vicky and Ross’s style – they describe their wedding as handmade vintage / romantic and the day itself looks fantastic.
