Karen and Richard were together for 17 years before they got married. Their story goes back some way: they were even in the same class at school! Karen told me the best thing about being married is not having to call Richard her partner any more – because it always sounded as though they were in business together! (Honestly though, why has no one thought of a better word for partner… any suggestions?!)

Their Mansion House wedding is pretty, perfect, and full of love and family and smiles all day long. I love the flowers, I adore Karen’s pretty House of Mooshki dress – she looks so beautiful! – and the atmosphere of their day which comes across so perfectly in their images.

British brides and stylists constantly amaze me with their skill in combining vintage and modern. Today I have a shoot which does this soooo well: set in the luxurious Biggleswade Mansion House and showcasing the work of a lovely group of local Hertfordshire wedding suppliers – this is fab.

Images are by the very lovely Lucy Rose Photography.

Lucy told me “the shoot was 1920’s inspired with a beautiful fitted beaded dress and bold make-up on one model and a 1950’s champagne calf length dress on the other model. The wintery weather left a light scattering of snow on the ground which made a great seasonal feel to the shoot and gave the venue a lovely warm tone in the photographs.”

In the tranquil Hertfordshire countryside stands the elegant Mansion house. Built in the 1870s and filled with 19th century paintings, it was the perfect location and took my breath away the first time I visited.”

This gorgeous couple married back in June with a ceremony at The Mansion House, followed by a trip on the famous Bagheera ferry and then wedding breakfast reception at the Riverstation… and lucky for me, and for you, they took lovely Bristol wedding photographer Joseph Hall along with them!

I adore Vanessa’s delicate white lace wedding dress, her flower crown and the way she smiles at Andy – there are such lovely moments here and I keep scrolling up and down the images to take it all in… The wedding day was a real treat for guests as well with laughter and friendship in everyone’s eyes as they travelled on the ferry (with Bristol Packet Boat Trips) – do grab a cuppa and take the time to read through the full blog post with me… it’s fabulous.
