A show stopper for the most elegant of weddings… Inspired Harmony deserve a mention for their beautiful performances at The Wedding Show last week.

Inspired Harmony are for the most exclusive wedding receptions. For lovers of classical music and vocal performance, with a range from opera, light opera and show songs – and including ever popular ‘Singing Waiters’ as an option for your big day.

We were impressed and awestruck by performances by Inspired Harmony in the marquee at The Wedding Show. It was extraordinary: everything stopped, everyone fell silent for the singing. Unlike the gospel choir around the corner, Inspired Harmony made everyone stop in their tracks to listen. Exhibitors nearby were enthralled, and a crowd gathered around the corner – quite strangely, really! to listen without disturbing the singer.

I would definitely recommend Inspired Harmony as a show stopping performance for your wedding day.

Lisa’s stand was a busy one at The Wedding Show on Saturday, and we barely had time to say hello and admire one of her beautiful table plans. What did strike me immediately was the quality of her wedding stationery. Invitations were beautifully made, table plans flawless, and there was an air of elegance and sophistication about the exhibition stand.

Cute, quirky, pretty, individual… any of these on your wedding stationery wish list?

If they are, then you should consider Kate Lewis Design for your wedding invitations and stationery. I met Kate at The Wedding Show last weekend and she was every bit as lovely as her wedding invitation designs imply!

Kate Lewis’s background is in fashion design. She told me she’s always surprised – and pleased – when brides fall in love with her sketched wedding invitation designs. I loved the fairy sketches and the bride and groom invitations on Kate’s stand, but there was so much more to see as well – if you’re looking for pretty wedding invitations it’s definitely worth looking at Kate Lewis Design online.

Walking around The Wedding Show about this time last week I was delighted to spot Mossy in the corner in his famous – yes, famous! – stripey jacket.

Mossy Caricatures at The Wedding Show 2011

Mossy Caricatures at The Wedding Show 2011

If you don’t know who Mossy is, you should! Luckily enough, in just a second or two, you will! I first saw Mossy’s work years ago when I began my calligraphy business. Mossy is a wedding caricaturist with tons of personality, instantly recognisable across a crowded marquee (be it at your wedding day or at a show like Tatton) and someone I’ve admired from afar for years. It was a pleasure to have a quick chat to Mossy last weekend – I hope I managed to convince him that he IS famous!

Mossy – real name David Moss – told me how his caricatures cover the walls of Sam’s Chop House – a famous eaterie in Manchester. I was a little starstruck when I spoke to Mossy but he was really nice and chuckled at the notion of being famous. I still say, if you want a celeb to entertain at your wedding, Mossy’s your man!

I had a really great time at The Wedding Show last weekend and from everything I saw and heard, so did everyone else who was there! If you missed it, here’s your chance to see the best bits in five minutes or less…

Arriving at The Wedding Show in our little car – it was a gorgeous bright and sunny day – perfect for a drive in the country.

Tatton is a grand old country estate with a deer park, gardens and the rest – far nicer than an inner city exhibition centre if you ask me!

The Cheshire Set were out in force. They arrived in some reeeallly nice vehicles like this sparkly vintage minibus (only kidding, Caremore Cars brought this one along). A few moments after we photographed it a bride got in – you could play inside it and everything!

And for a further splash of luxury…

If anyone’s visiting The Wedding Show at Tatton Park today here are some quick piccies to guide your way. This is why you should go to The Wedding Show, what it looks like and just a few of my favourite stands (the ones we got on the big camera!)

Red Floral Architecture was a real star of the show for me – with incredible flower designs in the entrance as well as on their stand. More to come later in the week!

by RSVP Now – beautiful pink and gold table dressing with calligraphy by the very talented Juliet

The ice sculptures were impressive! I loved the wedding table plan (laminated and then… glazed?) encased in ice and the way it flows around the edges. Beautiful! This was by Glacial Art – award winning, internationally renowned master craftsmen.

We had a glass of champagne in the foyer first of all, and then a stroll around the exhibition stands (with me scribbling notes and my lovely Gareth snapping pictures as we went).

We have seen and chatted to or at least waved at some friends and even more friendly faces: Chris Hanley is here, Kelly and Nik from Boho Weddings and Events, the lovely Laura Donnelly who’s on the organising team from Wedding Link and has been so welcoming to us this week.

I’m super-organised. Always have been – thanks Dad! If I catch a train I’m there 15 minutes beforehand in case there’s a queue for tickets. If I’ve got an appointment I get everything ready the night before…. and the week before a wedding show, I’m googling constantly to see who’s exhibiting, who’s visiting, who’s excited about it all.

I thought: why not share? Pop everyone who’s talking about The Wedding Show this week on this page so you can see who I’m looking forward to meeting and who is busy preparing for Tatton Park this weekend.

My top picks for The Wedding Show at Tatton:

Boho Weddings and Events – I’ve followed wedding planner Kelly Hood from day one. She’s an inspiring, enthusiastic and friendly wedding planner with a real vision for her business and the passion to make your wedding amazing.

Chris Hanley Photography – my favourite top UK wedding photographer. Chris is a creative force, and his wife Claire is the friendliest, most charming lady you’ll meet at Tatton Wedding Show this weekend! I can’t wait to see the Chris Hanley Photography stand.

I will be blogging about The Wedding Show at Tatton Park on Saturday – the plan is to tweet and blog photos and recommendations throughout the day, with proper write ups about my favourite things on Sunday and next week.

Before then though, I thought I’d share some top tips. Mine, and some from the organisers of Tatton Park Wedding Show themselves!

I had a quick chat to Laura Donnelly, one of the Wedding Show organisers, earlier in the week and she was kind enough to email me afterwards with a few exhibitors to look out for.

Top tips for Tatton Wedding Show 2011

The Wedding Shop (Alderley Edge) – straight from Cheshire’s own lap of luxury, The Wedding Shop will be involved in the catwalk shows on Saturday and Sunday, and all the girls on their exhibition stand are really lovely and friendly.

My Personal Sanctuary – a new exhibitor offering beauty and pampering treatments at luxury holiday cottages throughout the UK – perfect for classy hen weekends! Wedding Show organiser Laura said “they look amazing”.

Still very excited about The Wedding Show here in Cheshire – and with 2 days to go I’m planning blog posts and googling for news about the show almost hourly!

I’ve just had an email from The Wedding Show (I’m guessing it goes to all guests, and yes it was all in pink!) –

The Weddinglink team look forward to seeing you this weekend at the spectacular Wedding Show at Tatton Park.

Over the two days of the show, there will be a fantastic opportunity for you to perfect your bridal style… The highly-experienced team from Aqua Rosa will be offering you the chance to have a bridal hair and make up trial from just £5.00
These trials are usually priced at £90.00, so come along to Stand 511 to make sure you don’t miss out!
(If this is of interest, please be aware that we don’t have any ATM machines on site, so it’s best to bring along some cash!)

So I am getting very excited about the wedding show at Tatton Park this weekend. This Saturday I will be up bright and early on a mission to swoon at stationery, sample cupcakes and enjoy the fantastic catwalk show the show organisers always put on.

I had a lovely chat with Tatton wedding show organiser Laura yesterday and I’m looking forward to some real treats too: the teepee first, the jewellery boutique (a collaboration of four jewellers which sounds fab), and of course the helicopter that will be dropping in – but not literally!

More to come on Tatton Wedding Show this week as I blog about some of the suppliers I can’t wait to meet! Will you be there on Saturday?
