Claire got in touch to tell me about her beautiful English wedding to Andrew. She won my heart with her very first email:

It’s not just about seeing all of the hours of work fiddling about with lace, pearls and pva glue come together. It’s about seeing loved ones there for you on your special day. My dad’s disability meant he was only able to have pictures with me before I left to get married. Luckily, I had one of the best photographers to take a few special pictures with my dad. Funkyphotographers, I am so grateful. He was part of my day as much as everyone else. The day ran like clockwork from my brother giving me away at Orleans House Gallery, to the boat trip along the Thames through Teddington lock. Our guests welcomed our arrival at The Lensbury to carry on the celebrations.

Hello there! I hope you’ve had a deliciously sunny weekend. If you’re one of my new blog subscribers please get in touch, let me know what you think of the newsletter! How’s it going? (If you’re not, you can sign up here.)

Today’s wedding blog is all about Esme and Graeme, who were married in June at the very charming Fazeley Studios in the heart of Birmingham. Fazeley is a unique wedding venue, gorgeous on the inside as you’re about to see, and with tons of potential for all kinds of weddings. Esme and Graeme’s wedding has so many lovely details you’re bound to take ideas for your big day from this post.

The photography is by John Charlton, who is based at Fazeley Studios (he loved it that much!). Esme and Graeme have told me a little about their day – I hope you enjoy their story!

Buxted Park wedding (26)Matthew and Alyson’s wedding is elegance itself: with a musical flavour lending personality to the day and beauty and simplicity styling their celebrations. Alyson’s wedding dress by Suzanne Neville has a dreamy nostalgia and the 1940s style of her dress and headdress influenced the theme of today’s wedding blog.

The wedding colours are purest whites; the wedding venue is divine; the weather for this November wedding day was bright, and crisp – the perfect day for a wedding.

Photography is by Sussex wedding photographer Sara Reeve, and Alyson has written the loveliest wedding report to share with us all today. Enjoy!

Who proposed, and how?

Our favourite restaurant is Drakes of Brighton. Having spent a wonderful evening sampling fine food and wine, Matthew kept taking moments to talk to the staff away from our table and became very serious. Suddenly he produced a card in which he’d written the poem “I vow to you”. Whilst Matthew read the poem and we became caught up in the moment I could see one of the waitresses circling close to our table. At the moment that Matthew finished the poem, four cupcakes with pink hearts and the words “Will you marry me” were placed in front of me. How could I refuse!
