I think it’s my lucky week. I mean it MUST be – the weddings and shoots we’re sharing are insanely pretty! Then there’s my inbox – and the features we have coming up (with yet more amazing couples) are so exciting! Pinch me, someone! ? … anyways, today we have the BREATHTAKING wedding of Sophie & Elliot, who said their I dos at Sophie’s folks house, with a sperry tent from Papakata providing the loveliest backdrop to their day. Their June wedding was the perfect English country garden celebration (hats off to actually being in an actual English country garden, guys!) with styling and florals vibrant and exotic – even including the food! Sophie’s dress is a bespoke design from English Wedding members TDR Bridal – it’s stunning and she looks incredible.

The floral installations are by Pip Holland – Sophie and Elliot’s friend and a florist. Pip worked with her team around the clock for 4 days leading up to the wedding creating a topical paradise. Each table had an individual arrangement, then there was a flower arch and a large ring above the circular bar. All of the bridesmaids had flower rings instead of bouquets and the ring bearer (Sophie & Elliot’s dog!) looks adorable in a flower garland!

We have been SO excited to share this beautiful May wedding with you. It’s quintessentially English with the most wonderful florals, superb styling and a fabulous venue in North Yorkshire. Bride Lizzie looks incredible in a Maggie Sottero dress with such a pretty and unusual neckline – I absolutely love it. And Rick’s bespoke suit is just superb – he looks amazing and we love his look!

Images are by lovely Lissa Alexandra Photography. Lissa is based in Yorkshire and has the prettiest natural photography style, capturing beautiful moments and memories which tell the story of Lizzie and Rick’s day just perfectly.

The wedding day involved three venues: from the reception at All Saints Church in Helmsley guests walked to the Walled Garden for a drinks reception, and then travelled on a vintage bus to The Star Inn at Harome for their Michelin starred wedding breakfast and evening reception, which was in a beautiful PapaKata Sperry Tent.

I adore this wedding. Bolton Abbey is amazing – what a superb location for gorgeous, memorable wedding photos, don’t you think?! Today’s gorgeous bride Vicky’s couture dress is stunning; I love Howard’s outfit, they just look perfect together. And the festoon lighting and sparklers… absolutely incredible. LOVE it all!!!

I chose my dress which was from Lyn Ashworth by Sarah Barrett as I loved her lace detail. I didn’t find a specific dress that had all the elements I wanted but the Lyn Ashworth collection gives you the option to pick one element from one dress and add it to another dress which was perfect. I put all my favorite elements together and made a bespoke dress that I absolutely loved and felt amazing in.

Our reception venue was tepees in the grounds of the bride’s parents house. We personally decorated the tepees with bunting and paper lanterns and also added fairy lighting and festoon lighting, disco ball, a rustic gift table, love sign and photograph wall of the hen and stag dos.

In May I spent the loveliest birthday week down in Cornwall with my man. We walked the coastline, dined at Outlaws, explored magical villages and breathtaking landscapes… and I fell in love with Cornwall. But oh, it is such a long way from my part of the world!!

I would be thrilled to feature more Cornish weddings on the blog, so do get in touch if you’re marrying in those parts! In the meantime, I have news which you’ll love if you’re tying the knot in Cornwall.Claire

Boho brides, whimsical couples and lovers of the outdoors will know and love outdoor events company PapaKåta, who’ve featured many times on the English Wedding Blog. We love their tipis and gorgeous Sperry Tents. Rachael from PapaKåta has just been in touch to tell me all about Sperry Tents South West – a new venture making the luxury tents more widely available across the UK.

I love how wedding styling is evolving into something you can buy, fall in love with, take home and keep forever. My wedding day would be full of special touches which would last: furnishings, handcrafted furniture and quirky little things made of paper and sequins… Is it just me?

Oh, PapaKåta… but you’re beautiful!! This must have been one of the best-looking wedding events of the season: glorious tents and teepees, fabulous suppliers and gorgeous brides and grooms exploring just how amazing a wedding under canvas could look. English Wedding Blog sponsors PapaKåta held their spring open weekend in March and Helen Abraham photographed the event… So. Wanna see some beautiful things?!

You know what I love? With PapaKåta there’s no big song and dance about an ‘alternative wedding fair’ – they just put up their teepees and tents, invite their favourite suppliers (and their taste is super awesome!) and tell everyone to come see… I only wish I could have been there! If you missed it too, there are details of two autumn events towards the end of today’s feature… get those diaries ready!

The sun shone, cocktails flowed, cameras snapped and guests turned out in their hundreds! At this year’s PapaKåta Spring Open Weekend we welcomed over 700 visitors to see our beautiful Teepee and Sperry tents at Escrick Park Estate.

Open weekends, specialist and niche wedding fairs and supplier collaborations have totally taken over from wedding shows and I think I’ve just discovered the very, very best wedding event you could possibly go to. Think countryside and springtime, teepees and tents, plus styling tips and examples of the very latest wedding trends… and you’re almost there. If you’re free on the 21st and 22nd of March then make a date in your diary to be in Yorkshire at the PapaKata open weekend. You’ll both have an amazing time, I promise!

Some of the fabulous suppliers who’ll be there on the day – and who I’ve worked with and would recommend from the bottom of my heart – include Melissa Beattie Photography and The Charming Press. There are even more…

The rustic, botanical styling which stole our hearts in 2014 will be big again in 2015, and I wanted to show you these gorgeous images from PapaKata’s spring open day last year. They’re by lovely Laura Calderwood and I think they really show how warm and welcoming a wedding teepee can feel… but do go along to this year’s open day for the full PapaKata experience!

Hey everyone! I hope you’re having a lovely day so far. I have something very special to show you today… something I fell in love with a few years ago when I first began writing the English Wedding Blog. Wedding teepees were brand new, and I’ve always adored their rustic, eco style. PapaKåta is now the UK’s biggest supplier of gorgeous teepees and last year introduced us to Sperry Tents.

PapaKata wedding teepeeTrust me – once you’ve seen a PapaKata teepee or Sperry tent, you’ll never want to see a bog standard marquee again. Ever!

PapaKata_Teepees UK real weddingIf you want to celebrate in extraordinary style, look no further than PapaKåta’s teepees. The free-spirited teepees are glorious in summer and super cosy in winter.

Sperry Tents are huge in the US, always on the world’s top wedding blogs, and will be one of the hottest things in weddings for 2015 and beyond.

She purred…” said our PM this week, and I quite liked it. Oh, to purr in velvety tones with all the glamour of a Hollywood starlet – I’d love to speak that way! It’s how I imagine today’s super glamorous bride would sound: she has that timelessly elegant beauty originating from the Great Gatsby era and I know you’ll adore this shoot!

Our bride wears the most exciting of vintage styles: an Eliza Jane Howell designer wedding gown with sequins, sheer sleeves and a fabulous belt, all in the softest shades making a gently sophisticated statement. Her groom wears a luxurious navy suit with bow tie, creating a look both elegant and vintage which fits the style of the day.

Combining rich, midnight blues and natural textures with minimal design and a focus on comfort, the setting for the shoot is one of PapaKata’s gorgeous new Sperry tents – indeed today’s styled shoot is the brainchild of PapaKåta, The Wedding Affair and Dominic Wright Photography.

Today I’m over the moon to be sharing a styled shoot from PapaKåta, The Wedding Affair and Dominic Wright Photography. The star of the day? Well aside from our gorgeous couple, it has to be the beautiful tent doesn’t it? Just… wow!

Imagine celebrating your wedding under canvas with something glamorous, exciting and brand new to the UK. This is worlds away from a dingy old marquee – Sperry Tents are brand new to this country, and they’re the prettiest, classiest, most amazing places for a wedding reception you could possibly dream of!

I’ve been a MASSIVE fan of PapaKåta since the beginning of the English Wedding Blog back in 2011. Wedding teepees were brand new, and we loved their rustic, eco style. PapaKåta is now the UK’s biggest supplier of teepees and back in February I heard they were bringing Sperry Tents – fabulous American styled tents – over to the UK. Sperry Tents are huge in the US, always on the world’s top wedding blogs, and I’m more excited than I can even begin to tell you to be sharing this shoot with you today.

How many couples incorporate elephant poo into their big day, I wonder?! Today’s gorgeous couple Rebecca and Tom did just that… you’ll have to read their wedding report after the images to find out how! This is a wonderful wedding I know you’ll love… Rebecca had her wedding dress made for her by a specialist dressmaker, and it’s exquisite!

I love how they made their wedding day very personal, welcoming and friendly. The tipis are fab (aren’t they always?!) and other decoration is kept sweet and simple. Tom and Rebecca chose not to have a wedding cake, which makes perfect sense to me as a) they don’t have a sweet tooth and b) if you’re not cake fans it’s a good way to save money for other things!

Oh! And today’s bride and groom are a down to earth couple whose wedding report makes me happy, especially this bit:

What’s the best thing about being married?

That our relationship is exactly the same as it was before we were married!
