Morning everyone, and Happy Friday! I’ve been saving today’s gorgeous Cheshire wedding blog for this morning – it seems to fit with that whole Friday feeling thing. There’s sunshine and romance, and a stunning bride and groom – in fact wedding blog subscribers will recognise Karen and Simon from their wedding highlights film which I was so proud to feature back in January (see an autumn wedding in Cheshire).

I love this quote from the happy couple:

Try to leave yourselves as much time as possible between all the day’s activities to spend with family and friends, after the day those will be the moments you cherish the most.

Karen wears a fabulous dress by Sassi Holford and the day has a purple theme because it’s the ribbon colour for pancreaticcancer.org.uk – a cause very close to the hearts of the bride and groom. This is all explained in the wedding report which Karen and Simon have shared with us today, and you’ll see some really beautiful images from Cheshire wedding photographer Martin Hambleton – with unexpected and wonderful moments captured as well as some magical portraits. I know you’ll love this! Grab a Crunchie (after all, as Wendy always tells me, we should celebrate Fridays in style!!)

Anyone fancy a touch of sunshine this morning? Me too… so in glorious technicolour I bring you this beautiful wedding film from Marry Me Films today. Karen and Simon were married at Cheshire’s Arley Hall in the autumn… cue gorgeous colours and one of those wonderfully crisp autumnal days – perfect for guests to play boules and croquet on the lawn.

Karen wore a beautiful Sassi Holford cap-sleeved wedding dress, and is such an incredibly beautiful bride – both she and Simon look fabulous! One of the loveliest touches from this Cheshire wedding is the Vicar, who married Karen’s parents years before. They were his first wedding ceremony, and he came back especially to marry Karen and Simon – which is such a wonderful story.

There’s much more for you to read about the wedding on Marry Me Films’ Love Heart Blog (thanks Sara – what an amazing story to share) so do pop over there for a look when you’ve watched Karen and Simon’s wedding film here. I hope you love it! Claire xxx

photo credit Chris Hanley Photography (37)Creative exploration is a marvellous thing for any wedding business. Imagination is why wedding blogs were invented. It’s why we admire top designers who are making waves – the likes of Ian Stuart and David Fielden, the innovators of our industry.

It’s also a hell of a lot of fun.

I watched, intrigued, as my two friends, together with the fabulous Chris Hanley Photography, devised a shoot which would explore the very core of their two brands.

Joanne and Nia’s willingness to let their hair down and play was just brilliant. The shoot they dreamed up looks right into the heart of their businesses, painting Vintage Twee in eccentric perfectionism and playing with Nia Fiori’s love of burlesque and fine art.

I love their promo shoot, which for me puts a whole new light on promoting a brand image.

I had the privilege of watching a very select group of wedding experts at work recently… I still can’t divulge all the cloak-and-dagger details of this amazing shoot but I can’t resist telling you about the fascinatingly talented Bethany Jane Davies.

Bethany Jane Davies joined the team – Chris Hanley Photography, Marry Me Films, Vintage Twee and Nia Fiori – on a two-day creative shoot to create the most wonderfully exciting and glamorous hair for models Jo and Nia.

Without getting in anyone’s way I did my best to peer over her shoulder from time to time each morning and watch her at work. Bethany owns The Vintage Beauty Parlour and she’s an experienced freelance hair and make-up artist with a background in television, fashion and film. She was personally trained by Versace’s head stylist at the prestigious School of Make-Up – and it really was exciting to see her working with Jo and Nia!

Behind the scenes on a secret photoshoot with Fiori and Twee (by Goldie)

The very least I can do to finish a bizarre and wonderful week is thank my friends for making it that way. The secrets will come out soon I’m sure. For now – an Oscars-style thank you goes out to:

Mat Hepplestone of Red Floral Architecture. Mat is a genius. Chris Hanley Photography. you already know how much I admire Chris and Claire. Marry Me Films. Meeting Tony and Sara for the first time on Monday, by Tuesday I was smitten with the pair of them. And I’m so excited to see the movie…

Joanne Linder, aka Vintage Twee. Joanne’s inner genius came out to play and had the best time ever! Not only is this designer gorgeous, she’s a star on set. Jo, you rock. Nia Fiori, glamorous artist and illustrator. Nia’s naughty side inspires her designs; her burlesque style and sense of humour shine in everything she does. And oh yes, she looks like a goddess. Truly!

wedding film by Marry Me FilmsMorning everyone. Pens down for a sec please: I’m very happy to say it’s movie time!… and I’m going to make you cry. There’s a split second glance in this little wedding film that tells me Jane and Steve both knew they’d be in tears – and they are. It’s beautiful to watch though, and I love seeing a groom covered in happy tears! The film is by the ever-so-lovely Marry Me Films

Wedding highlights to watch out for:

  • Jane looks gorgeous in a beautiful, figure-hugging strapless dress.
  • Steve’s nerves build from the very beginning – but when he sees his bride, your heart will melt! And from then on, the smiles don’t stop.
  • The lovely ivory and pink rose venue decorations for ceremony which is in a gorgeous white room with high windows
  • They really go the whole nine yards, including white horses and carriage

Victoria and David’s wedding is gorgeous – when Sara and Tony from Marry Me Films got in touch I instantly fell in love with this film from their Thornton Manor wedding. Victoria is a real English beauty, and her wedding dress covered in lace and sparkles is really, really lovely.

So today’s blog post is a quickie for me to write! Enjoy the wedding film – Paul Weller provides the romantic soundtrack by the way – and watch out for that first view of the magnificent ceiling* inside Thornton Manor. You’ll also be impressed, I think, by Victoria and David’s six tier wedding cake. Yes – six tiers! Wow…
