Copper and succulents for a Refinery wedding with Amanda Karen Photography Essex (18)

Our pages are so often filled with soft, feminine styling ideas and fabulous floral-filled stately home weddings. My heart is equally drawn to urban celebrations with a quirky or chic aesthetic, and today’s shoot from lovely Amanda Karen Photography combines the best of both worlds with a fabulous floral curtain and sleek, copper styling touches.

The Refinery by Drake and Morgan is such a brilliant venue: in Regent’s Place, central London, and with a cool and urban interior, it works perfectly for this industrial luxe wedding style, brought together by Carmela weddings.

Copper is still such a major trend, and the perfect complement to soften its shine is succulents. The greenery in the tablescapes is perfect for a wedding all year round, and I adore the little details as much as the breathtaking curtain of foliage. Striking geometric shapes in the cake and stationery add to the look.

Our bride wears a stunning dress by Truvelle from Heart Aflutter Bridal. The sparkle and sensuous shape of the dress are so incredibly beautiful – the flowing skirt is graceful and perfect for a city chic wedding celebration.

Your wedding can have luxe styling, romantic florals and pretty details even with a more industrial, city backdrop. There’s something I really love about contrasting an urban setting with feminine decor, and today’s styled shoot is simply fabulous.

This styled shoot was inspired by the growing trend in urban feel weddings in London but with brides wanting to maintain that luxurious and stylish feel. Watercolour touches added softness to the industrial surroundings of Drake and Morgan at Kings Cross through the use of silk linens, stunning stationery and a beautifully water colour painted cake.

The use of herbs again brought a softer feel to the venue but also bought the outside in, something that can be important to brides if the venue they choose does not have its own green outdoor space.
