Grab it here… and enjoy today’s sublime inspiration shoot, which was one of my favourite features in the English Wedding Bible’s very first issue.

Pastels are our favourite wedding palette – they have been for years and I doubt that will ever change. But it’s easy to forget there’s a gentle rainbow of pastel colours encompassing everything from palest dusky pinks through to barely-there olive greens, dove greys and soft corals… because pastel doesn’t only mean pink.

Today’s shoot puts forward a beautiful and very strong case for delicate blue pastel hues. The key colour is Serenity, which works well all year round; for cool winter weddings and soft pastel spring and summer ones. It gives you the ‘something blue’ and is incredibly calming, delicate and outrageously pretty, whilst maintaining that elegant feel.

Discovering new talent is 100% why I’m even here – and sharing it with you lovely people is one of my favourite things. The Chosen Wedding Fairs have brought so many exciting suppliers to the pages of the English Wedding Blog, and one of the loveliest is Anna from Indigo Yard Floral Design. Her flowers have that intuitively natural beauty which I love so much: I could gaze at her arrangements for hours. We wanted to show you three distinct seasonal looks to inspire your spring, July and late summer weddings today, and I hope you love them as much as I do!

Botanical chic: Jenna & Ruaidhri’s July wedding at The Grange, Belluton

We designed all of Jenna and Ruaidhri’s arrangements to contain lots of foliage in different textures with silvery and sage tones, combined with beautiful cream florals and styled with copper accents.

We created two large wild hedgerows either side of the outdoor ceremony space to create romance and drama and as a nod to the beauty of the English countryside.

I’m a bit of an Instagram junkie, I admit. I also have weekends where I binge on Pinterest – once I start, I just can’t stop. If I was planning my own wedding I’d end up in some sort of ‘Pursue Pretty’ rehab. Is it just me?

I have been reading some of the interviews you’ve been sending in for wedding features – I’m so lucky to have such amazing girls and guys getting involved in the blog, and soooo many amazing weddings to share! – and I love how everyone finds their suppliers in different ways.

But did you know the English Wedding Blog is designed to matchmake you with amazing (local) suppliers?

Nicola told me “I read lots of blogs and did a lot of Pinteresting for inspiration, but Instagram was brilliant for finding local suppliers and seeing real life images of their work.”

Two of the loveliest secrets to styling a romantic, feminine and timeless wedding are fabrics and foliage. Opt for luxe napkins and calligraphy place names instead of favours; and choose ferns, leaves and opulent foliage to create texture and include nature in your day. I’m so in love with this shoot by One Stylish Day – I hope you adore it too!

Blush & Grey is pure and natural with a lightness of touch and sensual undertones, with the innocence heightened by using British florals, creeping foliage and ripe fruit.  Create the look by using antique silver cutlery and sparkling cut glass on tables, teamed with contemporary organic crockery for an indulgent feel.  Use flowers and foliage in abundance, letting them take over tables and trail to the floor.

Pale watercolour blush pink and soft dove grey give a dreamy quality to this look.  Soften the table décor by placing a handful of dried petals in antique silver trays and glass boxes.  When it comes to the cake, less is more; a simple and elegant duo of white wedding cakes with added flowers and fruit is chic and luscious.

In the English Wedding Book I mentioned greenery and foliage as one of 2016’s major wedding trends – and the shoots I’m seeing on all the big international wedding blogs are saying the same thing… so I was thrilled when lovely Daniela from Ferri Photography submitted her images from a fabulously beautiful, artistic wedding styled shoot where the luscious leaves took centre stage!

The theme for the shoot is set around the story of a local, Italian, village girl who falls in love with an English boy. After what seems like a lifetime away from each other, today is finally the day they will get married.

In July 2015 I was selected to attended a Fine Art Wedding workshop called a Beautiful Way. The workshop took place at the stunning Almonry Barn in Somerset. Together with 12 other other photographers we spent the day exploring the fine art style of photography, making friends, laughing and eating some amazing food!”

Wedding DIY, crafts and making everything at home is brilliant. I LOVE the revival of crafts and how brides and grooms (and mums and bridesmaids) are getting their fingers glittery and glue in their hair. You ROCK.

It’s also what blogs are all about. We exist to share ideas, to show you new styles and help couples share their real wedding crafts with the world. Every great wedding blog is full of styling touches which we hope will inspire you to get your craft on… or shop from the best wedding designers and crafters who will get glittery on your behalf.

Handcrafted or homemade – it’s all good.

But more and more often brides tell me about a design – say for a cake, an invite or a table plan – which they found online and copied / asked someone to copy for them.

Do you love hydrangeas as much as I do? Those gorgeous handfuls of delicate blue petals have inspired many an English wedding and I look forward to their arrival every summer.  I have the most deliciously beautiful wedding ideas shoot to share with you today. We’re talking dreamy blue hydrangeas in a serene Cotswolds setting – a truly idyllic barn location… and you’ll LOVE this!

Images are by Rob Tarren Photography, and the shoot was styled by Emma from The Flower Girls. The flowers are incredible and those hydrangeas are only the beginning of today’s beauty… there’s gold leaf, divine dresses and the most amazing gardens to inspire your own wedding along a pretty blue theme.

Emma told me, “The Priors Barn at Brockworth in Gloucestershire is a hidden gem. It’s set in manicured gardens and treasured by the owners, complete with its own lake.” It really is an inspiring place… I could lose myself in those incredible gardens as easily as I’ve lost my heart to these beautiful images.
