A blissfully beautiful real wedding for you this Friday… I’ve been excited to share this one, and I just know you’ll love it! Becky and Martin married in July 2018 at Cooling Castle barn in Kent. They have a shared love of travel and adventure, and styled their wedding with nods to this from globes to photographs on each table and little mini travel cameras – the theme of travelling was all around.

Images are by our lovely friend and English Wedding member, Kent based Michelle Cordner Photography. Becky’s dress is from Wed2B, teamed with shoes from Paradox. Her hair is by Zara Rose and makeup is by Lydia Rae. Martin bought a suit from Moss and teamed it with a dusky pink tie from Asos. Floral styling and bouquets are by The Flowersmiths.

“Luckily our venue didn’t need too much decoration. The barn already felt really rustic and didn’t need much adding to it. We decided to add things like a few extra fairy lights, items to tie in with the travel theme like a light up globe, treasure chests for cards and gifts etc. The rest was all handmade items we added.

Some wedding photographers are brilliant. Some bowl me over with their gorgeous images, their empathy, their signature styles. And (shhh) I have favourites. Sounds a little unfair, unprofessional even, doesn’t it?

Bear with me. 😉

Why do wedding photographers submit to blogs?

An easy question. For free promotion of their work to a huge readership. Top reason.

Also – for their brides and grooms. If you’d like to have your wedding featured on a blog, mention it to your photographer! They’re lovely people, and if you’ve found your photographer on a wedding blog it’s more than likely they’ll be happy to submit your wedding!

There’s another reason, and this is the one I like best of all: to build business friendships.

Photographers and wedding bloggers – a match made in…

Fair to say there’s a bit of a love / hate relationship between wedding bloggers and photographers, right? We know each other well. Photographers have a lot of contact with wedding bloggers via submissions, sponsorship and so on.

Every wedding is different: the details make a day different and so do the memories… and every bride and groom have something amazing to offer a wedding blogger like me. Today’s stunning bride Kirsty surprised me with this: “At the end of the night when everybody had left we sat on the head table with a bottle of bubbles for an hour just chatting about the day. We could still feel the buzz from the room from the day which was really quite incredible, it was a really special moment for us.

How many of you can imagine doing this after your big day? What a wonderful memory… and for this beautiful bride and gorgeous groom it’s one of so many special moments to treasure.
