Hello! I hope you all had an amazing summer of fun in the (surprisingly good) English weather. If you missed me last month, I’m Jenna Hewitt and I plan and style weddings. Each month I’ll be writing a kind of ‘wedding planning diary’ of help and tips that follows the planning journey of real life couple, Hannah and Ben (very lovely clients of mine). This month I’m writing some thoughts, musings and general advice on children (and what to do with them) at weddings!
If you want a wedding with a taste of tropical paradise then look no further than Amy Mair Couture’s 2018 collection La Selva.
Amy Mair is a designer known for taking inspiration from her love of nature and travel. La Selva, meaning tropical forest in Spanish, pays tribute to the discrete, subtle tropical and exotic influences that were the inspiration behind her third bridal collection for the Rachel Burgess Bridal Boutique.
Using colour, texture and cut she creates unique and subtly non-traditional gowns which still retain a luxurious glamour. Each gown prides itself of being something a little different, not to be seen anywhere else in the bridal market.
Hannah’s wedding to Angus is so very pretty – the artistic styling touches are wonderful and give their day a unique look which I adore. The colour palette is fabulous, and I’ve fallen head over heels for their delicate floral arrangements. They married in Yorkshire back in June, and took their county as inspiration for the theme of their day. I love this!
We made all our wedding stationery. A very talented friend of ours had drawn a beautiful picture of us, which we soon adopted as our ‘wedding logo’. We used this when designing our invitations, order of service, table and place name cards, and more!
How fast is August flying by?! I swear, time goes faster in wedding season. It does! We’ve made some little changes to the blog: our Recommended Suppliers menu is easier to use now, and we’re also excited to have a new logo design on the way soon 🙂 Every supplier I know is having a crazy busy month; even my calligraphy studio is crammed full of vintage furniture to be written on and used for a wedding in September.

On the most challenging of spring weather days; quite literally sleet, snow, rain and dazzling sunshine, HBA Photography & Nadia Di Tullio Flowers gathered together with a host of the most lovely wedding folks to create a series of images for the newly formed Field & Forest Weddings run by Charlotte and Dave Garner, to help showcase what a stunning location they have to offer to host woodland weddings, natural ceremonies and other events. Here’s what they had to say…..
