It’s always the images that get me; the beautiful photography and the intuitive captures. With York Place Studios that’s always the hugest thing. Then there’s Beth and Tim – a couple whose love, laughter and secret glances steal my heart. They’re adorable, romantic, heartwarming and surrounded by everyone they hold dearest at their Star Inn wedding in Harome.
Discovering little gems of wedding venues around the UK is part of the charm of writing a wedding blog. Mostly, I get to explore the nooks and crannies of beautiful old houses and quirky wedding barns through my screen, when lovely couples and photographers submit their weddings for a feature. Occasionally I get to visit a wedding venue and discover it first-hand, and when those venues are a little too far away from my home in the Lakes I’m lucky to have English Wedding team members dotted around the country who can discover them for me!
A huge movement will come to the bridal and wedding industry over the next 10 or 20 years – ethical, vegan and world-friendly fashion and styling. Leading the movement by several million miles (in our humble opinion at least) is luxury bridal designer Sanyukta Shrestha. Not only are her exquisite creations unique, handmade and beautiful: they’re helping communities of women and keeping traditional crafts and skills alive.
Wedding inspiration comes in all styles and colours, but when it’s shot at the exclusive Bawtry Hall near Doncaster and you have South Yorkshire’s finest suppliers in attendance, you know it’s going to be pretty inspirational. So, get ready to Instagram, pin, like and share this contemporary styled shoot, sent in by Neil Senior Photography.
The group of award winning suppliers who brought this shoot together wanted a theme that was organic and could grow as their designs took shape. It’s a great idea to visit your venue and look at the colours already there, especially for a venue like Bawtry Hall. So they chose soft shades of blue, grey accents, and hues of gold and peach to tastefully reflect the elegant sophistication and modern design elements that Bawtry Hall is known for.
It’s the loveliest thing to meet all the creative folks in the wedding industry, and while Helen England lives down in Kent and I’m up in the Lake District, I feel as though I know her from her little introduction video on YouTube. Seriously – all wedding people should do this – it’s ace. We’ll show you in a moment! Helen has joined English Wedding this month, but many of you will already know her from the weddings and shoots we’ve published in the past. I love her style and approach, and I really hope you will too!
