Regardless of what happens in the world, one thing we can all agree on is that weddings are joyous occasions best shared with those we love. But as magical as this notion is, the current pandemic has forced us to change the way we tie the knot.

As we head into 2021 it’s safe to say that weddings, like everything, will be a little bit different. But that doesn’t mean they’ll be any less special!

A number of suppliers came together at the end of August for a styled shoot photographed by me at The Orangery Suite, a beautiful wedding venue set within a three-acre walled garden just outside Wimborne Minster, Dorset. Our chosen theme, the 1950s, was reflected in the tea-length dress and make up worn by my ‘bride’ Alex, and the flowers and reception styling. Mandy from Swingletree Vintage summed up the mood when she commented that it was good after lockdown to be doing something that felt like normality.

This Cecil Sharp House wedding makes me smile every time I see it. There’s an ongoing story thread I love, involving a tube with children in it. This is brilliantly documentary in style – in a year when stories and family connections will feel more important than ever, it couldn’t be more perfect.

End-of-summer weddings are probably the best. Colours are turning rustic, temperatures are pleasingly mild and one of the most iconic wedding venues, Dulwich College is a still oasis of calm in south east London.
