Hey lovelies! Welcome to Monday… and to a fabulous festival wedding in June at Northside Farm, Northumberland. This is a beautiful barn venue with glamping huts & tipis for brides, grooms and guests can stay in. Gorgeous bride Laura and dapper hubby Daryl enjoy their festivals, and with TONS of wonderful handcrafting. Laura worked on her wedding stationery almost every night for a YEAR! She also learned how to crochet so she could make blankets for her guest in case they got cold in the evening! Laura describes their wedding as “3 days of pure joy and happiness” – and it shows in the pics. I hope you love all these ideas as much as I do!
Hey lovely! Thank you so much for coming back to English Wedding. I just know you’ll adore today’s feature, with beautiful bride Julia and her gorgeous new husband Joe celebrating their marriage at Shiplake College, Henley on Thames. They’re a fabulous, fun couple whose wedding is full of personality – from their first look (the photos are just wonderful!) to the floral styling around the venue. Images are by my lovely friend Ayshea Goldberg Photography, who gets such a fantastic review from the happy couple.

It’s almost the weekend and we have another gorgeous wedding to share with you – this time, sent in by my lovely friends at The Little Paper Shop in Cheshire! I can’t introduce this blog post without plugging my modern calligraphy classes at this gorgeous wedding & paper boutique – it’s in Nantwich, and I’ll be there on the 7th of September for beginners modern calligraphy and brush pen lettering workshops – come and join me if you can!
Now as well as being the creative whirlwind and owner of The Little Paper Shop, Cara is a talented wedding photographer. She captured Liz and Andrew’s Shropshire wedding for them, and I’m thrilled to be sharing it with you today!
Our midweek wedding is a blissful, breathtaking, glorious celebration of love at Nottingham’s Carriage Hall. Stephanie and Peter were married in April, which they chose as a time of new beginnings – and the perfect month to start their married life! The lovely couple always knew they wanted a humanist wedding ceremony: “Humanism celebrates the idea that we have one life to lead, so we need to live it in the here and now, that we need to make the most of life’s beauty and riches every day; it focuses on the goodness of humanity and community, family and friends; and the importance of love.”
You can’t beat a wedding with a really fun story. Lovely Jade and Carl invited all of their guests to their children’s christening – and surprised them with an extra: they got MARRIED!! It makes the photos of the beginning of the day even more special, knowing that for most of the guests, the whole thing was a secret surprise!
Images are by lovely Fiona at Anoif Photography, who gets a fabulous review from Jade and Carl in their interview (at the end of the blog post). Photography was the couple’s biggest spend, and one they’re very glad of – for while this was very much a DIY wedding on a budget, the images will last a lifetime and I love the piece of family history they’ve captured for our lovely bride and groom!
