Somerley Estate sits right on the Dorset and Hampshire borders and is the stunning backdrop for this inspiration shoot. A privately owned home and wedding venue, the house was designed in 1750 and has been in the Normanton family for five generations. Somerley is gorgeous, (very) grand and has a lot of history. With this shoot I wanted to bring a little piece of understated contemporary style to blend with the traditional luxury surroundings.

The summer months are generally insane in the wedding industry: brides and grooms are planning their last touches; photographers are working double weekends; vendors of all shapes and flavours are delivering their beautiful creations across the country. Sophie loves to involve her customers in every step of the creative process, and specialises in the design and creation of bespoke engagement rings, wedding rings and wedding jewellery.
Today’s wedding has character, individuality and good old English country charm. I love Kelly and Gary’s choice of The Bull Hotel for their intimate Kent wedding – it’s a great little place and just looks so welcoming and off the beaten [wedding] track! Kelly is gorgeous – and despite Gary at one point not wanting a photographer, I’m thrilled they booked lovely Michelle Cordner Photography to capture their day.
