The week in weddings — blog love!
Evening everyone, what a fabulous day it’s been! I hope you’ve had a great weekend. I was whisked off to Tatton Park to enjoy a bit of nature — deer, dragonflies and a duck. Oh, and an ice-cream. 
While I was out I realised I’d forgotten to link to my favourite bits of the internet from the past week — and I had some gorgeous blog posts and wedding treats to show you!
So here — a little later than usual but worth the wait!

“It’s an inspirational place to shoot with great choices for fine weather and inclement weather. The staff were polite, professional and attentive, the catering was lovely.

This wedding is a treat, and all the more special for a very special little flower girl, daughter of the bride and groom and the star of the show. She’s adorable and clearly loving her mum & dad’s wedding celebrations.
Bride Kate is absolutely beautiful, and she and Mark make a striking couple. Their photographs (by Chris Hanley) are exquisite, combining dramatic scenes, romance and emotion, and some fantastic fun shots around the venue.

Invented by Chris Hanley, Cherish is the sophisticated cousin of America’s trash the dress concept. You’ll feel a million… well, it has to be pounds rather than dollars!
Chris Hanley is the Cherish the Dress photographer. Chris has submitted many beautiful wedding photographs to English Wedding and took my photograph for the About page of the blog.

It’s flower time! Real wedding flowers by Green Earth Flowers of Cheshire
Another visual spectacle today, with a little more detail from Katie and James’s wedding at Sandhole Oak Barn which I featured a few days ago. Chris Hanley was the photographer — a regular favourite on English Wedding — and he sang the praises of Laura from Green Earth Flowers.
Green Earth Flowers are based in Poynton, Cheshire. They pride themselves on their bespoke approach to wedding flower design, and every wedding is designed around the unique requirements of the bride and groom.

A wedding of pure beauty

Combine the incredible setting of Cheshire’s Belle Epoque wedding venue with the astonishing talent of Chris Hanley Photography and the natural beauty of today’s bride Catherine, and you have a wedding that is second to none.

My Chris Hanley photoshoot — preview
I met the lovely Chris Hanley, his beautiful wife Claire and his hee-yuge camera on Friday morning. Chris has taken my picture for the blog and — while I’m scurrying around trying to find sensible words to write “About Me” — I wanted to share some of his photos with you.
Best think of these as a sneak peek!
We met in my local park on a gorgeous sunny morning. After coffee and a lovely chat over a wonky table (where Chris was scouring the park for locations as we talked), we headed off to take some pictures.

I received an order on Twitter a few weeks ago: something along the lines of, “Right, Mrs, you’re going to write an About Me page, and I’m taking your photo for it.” Cue me falling off my chair and squealing, as said tweet was from the inimitable genius that is Chris Hanley.
I’ve dieted for 3 weeks and lost nearly a stone I think — still a happy, chunky size 16, mind — and today I had my photoshoot with Chris and his lovely wife Claire (of Cherish the Dress fame). I’m still on a high, I haven’t seen any of the pictures yet and I can’t wait. (Still a bag of nerves though!)

Black and white wedding images
Inspired by Brendan and Maria’s black and white wedding theme which I featured here on Sunday, I asked some of my favourite UK wedding photographers to share their best black and white wedding photographs.
There isn’t much I can say about these, other than I was absolutely blown away by the wedding pictures they sent to me. Today and tomorrow — in two very, very different ways, I’ll show you why you should choose a wedding photographer who’ll give you wedding photographs in black and white as well as colour.
