Hey again lovely! Don’t you just wish these cold mornings would go away and we could all wake to rays of sunshine peeping through our windows? I’m heading off on a little road trip across the Lake District this morning but had to share this gorgeous wedding blog with you before I leave!

Hoscote House wedding blog photography (1)

Gorgeous Hayley and David were married in Scotland at Hoscote House, and created their own tartan to style their day as well as roping in family and friends to help out. Their wedding is beautiful, personal and full of character – and their smiles are as good as those rays of sunshine we’re all missing right now! So relax, grab a cuppa, sit back and enjoy this gorgeous wedding blog courtesy of my extremely talented friends Peter and Sara, wedding photographers at Pixies in the Cellar.

Today’s wedding on the blog is very much a story, told through beautiful pictures and with a wonderful focus on the wedding guests, and on fleeting moments in time.

Emma and Justin were married on the edge of a Scottish Loch – Loch Awe, near Oban. Their wedding day incorporated little touches of true individuality: a bit of Bob Marley in church; African fabric for the guys’ waistcoats alongside kilts and a Cèilidh for the evening reception.

I have a wedding report here from Emma, which I love – and with great wedding photography by Clare West, there’s really not much I can add except, enjoy the blog feature and do leave a comment for the bride and groom if you can!

Justin got his morning suit from a second hand tailor in Fulham called Old Hat. We also had made by a good friend of mine waistcoats from African print. Justin and his 2 bestmen had a certain print and then the ushers had the same but in a different colour.

Neil Wedding Video- Heaton House Farm Cheshire from silk wedding videos on Vimeo.

This gorgeous wedding film by Silk Wedding Videos needs very little introduction. A beautiful bride in a ruffled wedding dress; her gorgeous (and tearful) groom in kilt and sporren; an idyllic Cheshire location and about as loved up as a wedding video can be.

Wedding video highlights:

  • the adorable bridesmaid watching preparations in the morning
  • tears from the groom and his heartwarming vows
  • a lovely Scottish accent and bagpipers to go with it!
  • dogs in collars made of roses. Eat your heart out Tamara!

Enjoy x

Wedding photographer Hannah Beatrice got in touch with me to share something a little different – and as you all know, English Wedding blog is definitely into anything that breaks with convention! So this shoot is here as an inspiration and idea for any brides and grooms out there who, for whatever reason, might choose to have a photo shoot the day after their wedding.

For Jess and Si, the reason for choosing a day after shoot instead of on the day wedding photography was so they could ask their friend Hannah to be a bridesmaid for the day. Usually Hannah goes to weddings with her camera, being a professional wedding photographer! So to make sure everyone had an enjoyable and relaxing wedding day, they agreed to don their wedding finery again the day after for this photo shoot.

I also love that bride Jessica is an illustrator and designed the stationery for the wedding – I’ve included images and a link to her facebook page below. You’ll love the designs, they’re fab!

Morning everyone! I thought I’d start the week by getting away from it all with this wonderfully different and personality-filled Scottish wedding. Who’d like to join me and get away from it all for five minutes? Come on… you’ll adore this.

Yes – my little wedding blog likes to explore further than the English borders, and this is an irresistible celebration I absolutely had to share when my friend and great wedding photographer Jonathon Watkins got in touch.

It’s remote – wedding transport for the day included the ferry and a tractor and trailer. Footwear was wellies and hiking boots. The scenery is spectacular, the images stunning and the entire wedding day so perfectly created around the charm of the isle and its ruined castle.
