Discovering new talent is 100% why I’m even here – and sharing it with you lovely people is one of my favourite things. The Chosen Wedding Fairs have brought so many exciting suppliers to the pages of the English Wedding Blog, and one of the loveliest is Anna from Indigo Yard Floral Design. Her flowers have that intuitively natural beauty which I love so much: I could gaze at her arrangements for hours. We wanted to show you three distinct seasonal looks to inspire your spring, July and late summer weddings today, and I hope you love them as much as I do!

Coombe Lodge in Blagdon is one of the loveliest wedding venues in Somerset – as impressive as any stately home on the outside, and beautiful on the inside too! Gemma and Will chose this perfect spot for their romantic summer wedding, and our lovely sponsor Sandy from Love In Focus to capture their day. Gemma is absolutely stunning and I know you’ll love all the magical moments from this classic English wedding.

Etiquette is a word which turns me cold. It just implies a ton of rules and regulations, and the risk of doing things ‘wrong’ – and planning a wedding is hard enough without having to worry about wordings and receiving lines and whose name goes first, right? Etiquette and traditions go pretty much hand in hand, and I’m all for burning the rule book and doing things your own way – who’s with me?

So I had a little chat with a few friends on our Facebook page the other day. Here’s a list of 4 brilliant wedding traditions we love… and 9 we really do seem to hate!

Hey lovelies! I have so many beautiful ideas to share with you today – you’ll be Pinning away images for all of your wedding inspo boards from this gorgeous late summer wedding in Yorkshire. And what a pretty wedding!! I love all the little details, the styling and colour palette – the hand painted signage and pretty font on Hannah and John’s stationery are lovely. And oh, what a stunning couple they are too!

Images are by Vivienne Edge Photography, who told me the whole wedding was beautiful – the weather, the venue, the decor, the couple… and I couldn’t agree more!

I’m pretty well acquainted with a particular wedding invitation designer and calligrapher whose eyes roll right back into her head at the first breath of “request the pleasure of your company…”. The thing is – it’s not a phrase anyone would ever breathe, or even dream of saying out loud. If you’re having a party, you tell your friends in person: “we’re having dinner & drinks at mine for New Year – would you like to come?” The only place we seem to use the horribly stilted “request the pleasure of your company” is on wedding invitations. And not the fun, exciting ones.
