Happy Monday my lovelies! Is the sun shining for you today? I do hope so – we had the most beautiful sunrise up here in the Lake District and I’m feeling happy and excited for a lovely week ahead! In real life, it’s full of me writing wedding invitation samples on handmade papers with my fave calligraphy pens – and then I’ve a modern calligraphy workshop by the coast on Friday. In wedding blog life (which is a joyful existence lived inside my computer!) this week we have lots of fabulous inspiration for you including a virtual explore of Sussex’s best wedding venues and a rundown of some of the Midlands’ finest wedding bands – if you’re in those areas, check back here through the week to find out more!
Gorgeous newlyweds Fiona and Ashley’s spring wedding from Stratton Court Barn is just fabulous – they used rich purple tones to create a luxe, sophisticated wedding theme and chose a venue with oodles of cosy character which needed just a few creative touches to bring it to life. With a canopy of fairy lights and pretty floral styling, this is a lovely wedding I’ve been excited to share with you! Images are by our lovely team member Carol Elizabeth Photography, who is based in Oxfordshire and gets a glowing review from the happy couple!

Morning lovelies! Are you feeling a little chill in the air today? Autumn is coming… and here on English Wedding we’re racing ahead and bringing you a ski and snowboarding themed wedding! Gorgeous bride Hayley and Matt describe their day as a ‘family celebration après ski party’ – inspired by how they met. 7 years ago, these two were working for a ski company in France, where they met. 5 years later, this is where Matt proposed (on a surprise holiday back to Les Gets). The ski resort theme continued at their DIY wedding in Bedford, with multi-coloured hats and sunglasses as favours, welcome cocktails – even the Save the Dates and invitations were designed as lift passes!
Good morning, beautiful! How are you on this rather chilly October (!!) day? And can you even believe it’s properly autumn now? I know I can’t… but the best thing about autumn is all the fabulous weddings I’m seeing from lovely couples and photographers all around the country. This has to be the best time of year for wedding blogs, and I feel so lucky! Keep the submissions coming, guys!
I am totally in denial of any gales blowing a hoolie outside my window right now!! Come and join me because it’s SPRING here on English Wedding and we’re filling our eyes with sunshine and flowers… and the stunning wedding of Milly and Nick. They married at Little Glemham Church in Suffolk, and celebrated with a beautiful reception at Glemham Hall in May. Their day was traditional and relaxed, with wild white English flowers and luscious greenery in keeping with the Suffolk hedgerows and pebble greys as they were so close to the sea!
