Organising a wedding isn’t something any of us do every day, it’s all new territory and a little crazy at times. Rain on your wedding day will always mean you have the best stories to tell, and a collection of very memorable moments of your day. I love today’s real wedding story, which tells the tale of one of our favourite wedding bands, booked to play two sets on an English summer’s day for an outdoor wedding. It’s about near-disaster, sheer professionalism, and that famous ‘the show must go on’ attitude… Grab a cuppa and enjoy the ride! One of the things I love about the wedding industry is how quickly things change. Fashions come and go SO fast. As a wedding blogger I love how our industry thrives; how we import new ideas and how new faces appear so often on social media. Every new wedding business is an inspiration to me. And it makes staying in the game hard. It makes winning, and staying at the top of the wedding industry, the most exciting challenge you can imagine.
My little blogging desk, as you may know, is on the edge of the Lake District. We do get sunshine, but more often we have a variety we call ‘liquid sunshine‘, and we’ve kind of learned to love a misty, drippy or downright sodden day’s adventure in the fells. So when I read that Cornwall’s loveliest wedding venue Launcells Barton had written about rain on your wedding day, I smiled. Turns out, for what sounds like a relatively tropical place to me, these Cornish wedding pros have some pretty amazing ideas for rainy wedding days! I asked if we could share their advice, and they very kindly said yes. So here are our top tips, just in case it rains on your wedding day!
