Everyone will see your wedding from a different perspective. You’ll be in the centre of a whirlwind of emotions and moments you both want to hold onto forever. Your closest family will be overjoyed for you; and reminiscing over your younger days as they watch you become husband and wife. Friends will be thrilled; excited to celebrate with you and catch up if they can grab a minute; flower girls will look up to see the wedding from their own adorable perspective. A wedding – your wedding – will mean many different things to many different people.

And perspective is something your wedding photographers will bring, both on the day and for many, many years to come. They’ll capture moments you didn’t know had happened; the romance as you say your vows and the happiness shining through your day. They’ll photograph memories you will treasure for ever, and the very best will do this creatively, beautifully, captivatingly.

A delicate selection of sandwiches and cakes, jugs of Pimm’s and vintage china teacups brought Jennifer and Andrew’s English tea party wedding to life. There are so many beautiful photos here to inspire you to create a similar theme for your wedding day. With a stunning bride and oodles of wonderful images, this is a treat to brighten all of our Fridays!

Jennifer wears a gorgeous lace wedding dress by Mia Sposa; Andrew looks great in a tailored suit by Owen Scott. Their vintage theme happened almost by accident: looking to create a very personal wedding that reflected their personalities, the English tea party wedding kind of all came together on its own! And it looks amazing!

Happy Monday everyone! Have you had a lovely weekend? It’s a short week for me this week as I’m off adventuring in a few days’ time, so I’m launching straight into the week with an amazing wedding blog from Charlotte and Craig.

Christian Ward Photography UK real wedding blog Yorkshire (1)

This is one of those times where the pictures paint a thousand words – it’s a breathtakingly beautiful marquee wedding which simply has everything you could dream of! Charlotte is stunning; Craig is ever so handsome; the dress is divine, and there are lots of gorgeous ideas to take away with you.

All of today’s fabulous wedding blog photographs are by the very lovely Christian and Erica from Christian Ward Photography, and Charlotte and Craig have kindly written their wedding report to share with you as well. It’s full of inspiration and ideas as well as great advice – I’m especially impressed with the ladies VIP area… read all about that from about halfway down today’s blog post!

Hello again! I hope you’ve had a great week and are smiling this weekend and looking forward to whatever plans you have for today. Allow me to distract you momentarily with a beautiful, sparkly Christmas wedding. It’s high time I shared Emma and Tom’s wedding day on the blog – I’ve been holding onto this one for too long!

Yorkshire UK wedding blog (1)

There’s so much to enjoy here – the wintry sunshine flooding through the windows of Aldwark Manor sets the scene for one of the most beautiful Christmas weddings I’ve seen. Then there’s our gorgeous bride and groom, whose portrait photos are lit in such a magical way. Some of my favourite images are of the children at Emma and Tom’s Christmas wedding… those endless beads in glass bowls really do look tempting, don’t they?!

Congratulations to Emma and Tom and thank you for sharing your wedding story (about half way down the page) with us all today! Thanks also to Yorkshire wedding photographer Ian Wallace for submitting the feature to English Wedding Blog. Do share a comment at the end, we’ll all be so very happy to hear from you! Enjoy. Morning everyone! Today’s wedding blog comes from Oulton Hall near Leeds in Yorkshire and is a gorgeous and spectacular day from beginning to end. Basia and Scott’s wedding was classic, classy and very cool indeed. This couple are ever so stylish, their wedding is divine and the dancing and laughter is a highlight of the whole day!

Tierney Photography Yorkshire wedding (1)

Photography is by Sheffield wedding photographer, the lovely Mark Tierney. He captures such fantastic images – in this case, from the bride and groom getting ready right through the ceremony to the first dance and beyond.

Watch out for my favourite pictures: lacing the wedding gown and, in another room, the groom’s waistcoat. A lovely take on the traditional ‘bridal prep’ photos! Smile with me at Marge Simpson; sigh at the cute little flower girl watching Basia and Scott dancing; grin to see Granddad having a great time – he’s a brilliant dancer and almost steals the show!

Every real wedding submission for English Wedding Blog has something that leaps out at me – and with Louise and Chris’s big day it’s the sentiment of what the wedding day meant to this very special couple.

Tierney Photography Sheffield

Yes, there are gorgeous details. But this wedding isn’t all about styling and decor. It’s a very personal celebration; very Yorkshire! Chris told me for him the personal touches really made the day sparkle, and also Louise’s words about her wedding dress – which she never loved – bring everything into perspective.

Of course she looked absolutely stunning in her Augusta Jones dress, but for today when we talk about ‘The One‘ in the context of a wedding blog… it’s especially nice that it means the groom. 🙂

I would heartily recommend a cup of Yorkshire tea with today’s real wedding, and in your best china. You’ll see why… Enjoy!

rustic wedding ideas (24)Jody and Richard’s wedding was held at The Stables at Cross Butts in Whitby, a family-run wedding venue with the option of having a civil ceremony outdoors. They created a lovely theme with rustic details, and their wedding day was full of gorgeous ideas with a relaxed, natural atmosphere.

Yesterday I featured the bridal preparations and outdoor wedding ceremony on English Wedding Blog, and today I’d like to share all the details of the day with you. Jody and Richard worked so hard to create a beautiful day, and I know any couples out there planning a similar day will be inspired by their wedding decor.

How would you describe your wedding style?

We wanted our wedding to fit in with the venue which is described as “Where Country meets Town”, and we wanted a rustic and natural feel.

rustic wedding ideas blog (12)If you’re looking for beautiful and rustic styling ideas, today’s wedding blog post will be right up your street! As will tomorrow’s…

I love Jody and Richard’s wedding for the atmosphere they created. Their wedding was held at The Stables at Cross Butts in Whitby, a family-run wedding venue with the option of having a civil ceremony outdoors. They created a lovely theme with rustic detailing… it’s a gorgeous celebration I know you’ll enjoy.

Richard and Jody chose award-winning Derbyshire wedding photographers HBA Photography to capture their day. Photographers Ben and Hannah Appleby described Cross Butts as “a great wedding venue with one of the best marquees we’ve ever seen and it was so well decorated – an immense amount of effort from Jody & Rich and really worth it!

I’ll hand over to Jody and Richard to tell the story of their day, and leave you to enjoy the images by HBA Photography which go so well with the theme and style of this beautiful wedding.

denton hall wedding (13)I absolutely adore this and I hope you will too: Louise King and Jamie Green were married at Denton Hall in Yorkshire, and mixed the best of both worlds for their wedding.

They chose a luxury venue and beautiful styling to set the scene for their day, and incorporated their personalities in a fun and charming way with a Glasto theme: festival flags, their very own beer and CDs for wedding favours are just a few of their festival wedding ideas.

I love this wedding: it shows how a theme can be a flavour of a wedding day without taking over, and there’s a delicious sense of fun at one of Yorkshire’s most elegant wedding venues – those flags are fantastic!

I hope any festival-loving brides and grooms out there can take inspiration from Louise and Jamie’s lovely wedding blog feature. The photography is from my old friend and Yorkshire wedding photographer Mark Tierney (and it’s ace to have you back on English Wedding Blog, Mark!)

Enjoy!

Wedding photo by Nicky Chadwick (1)Helen and Rich chose a venue with a difference for their Yorkshire wedding: the Waterton Park Hotel sits on its own island within a nature reserve, near Wakefield. Helen’s Ian Stuart wedding dress is fabulous – she found it in a local bridal store for half price – and looks a dream in softly sparkling gold with French lace and pearls…

This wedding was sent in by Nicky Chadwick Photography. Nicky’s a friend of English Wedding blog, a regular contributor on my facebook page and a lovely lady whose comments always make me smile. Helen was kind enough to write a great wedding report – she’d worked hard to make their wedding day very personal, making her own bouquet and having it preserved as a very special memory of the wedding.

I’ll leave you to enjoy Helen’s own story, with photos by Nicky Chadwick.

The very beautiful Vicky and Matt won their wedding day at a Yorkshire wedding fair. They hadn’t planned to get married so quickly, but couldn’t turn down such an amazing opportunity and changed all their plans to bring the wedding forward to November 2011.

real wedding (20)

Wedding photographer Richard Wynn-Davies got in touch to tell me their story. He explained, “the organisers [of a regional UK wedding show] promoted a competition dubbed “The Royal Wedding” where they asked for wedding suppliers from each main category to provide their services to one couple for free in return for tons of great PR. We decided to put ourselves forward as the photographers. The winners were Vicky & Matt, an adorable couple.
