Hello there! Welcome once again to new wedding blog readers, congratulations and best of luck with your exciting wedding planning adventures! I know wedding blogs are all different, and sometimes it’s easy to miss features and ideas on your favourite blogs. I’ve done my best to make the English Wedding Blog really easy to use, and really relevant for you too – so you can search for weddings in your region, at the time of year you’re getting married, even at your own wedding venue or by your favourite photographer. Here’s how it works!

Real weddings by English county or UK region

In the top menu bar of the English Wedding Blog you can find real weddings either by wedding style (vintage, contemporary etc.) and find real weddings by county (listed in alphabetical order). If you’re a bride-to-be in Cornwall, for example, you can click on the Cornwall Weddings link to see weddings I’ve featured near you! (Here’s one I made earlier)

That’s not to mention the lovely styling and blue colour tones, another reason I selected this wedding to share with you on the blog today. I’ve learned a few things from Lizzie – Eryngium, anyone? Beautiful. (There’s a clue in the photo above!)

Thank you to wedding photographer Jo Garlike from Summer Love Photography for today’s submission, and my warmest congratulations to the very gorgeous Lizzie and Chris! Everyone – enjoy! Claire xxx

Hello there lovely blog readers and I hope your Monday is going nicely so far. I have a truly beautiful wedding to begin this week with. Abi and Mikael chose to have their wedding outside, this time last year. They married in the charming village of Duncton, West Sussex, with an outdoor ceremony in the grounds of Duncton Village Hall.

UK outdoor wedding Sussex Paul Fletcher (1)

Wedding photographer Paul Fletcher very kindly shared his images of the wedding with me for the English Wedding Blog. You can read his full wedding blog post with images here.

Abi and Mikael have written a great wedding report and reviewed some of their favourite wedding suppliers for you. I love their advice… particularly the bits about the dancing swan, the importance of hiring a good photographer, and remembering to eat the food!

I’ll hand over to today’s beautiful bride and gorgeous groom to tell you more about their outdoor wedding. Huge congratulations to Abi and Mikael, and thank you for being on the English Wedding Blog! All images are by Paul Fletcher Photography.

Today’s real wedding blog is from the very beautiful Lydia and her handsome groom Lloyd at London’s Institute of Contemporary Arts. I fell for their wedding style as soon as I saw the first images of their day. They kept things simple and classy with chic and contemporary flowers, beautiful lace, candles and pretty accessories.

UK London wedding blog images by Amanda Balmain (1)

Wedding photographer Amanda Balmain describes the ICA as having “gorgeous high ceilings, huge windows and elegant white interiors it is a beautiful setting for a romantic, stylish wedding“. It’s a new venue for me as a wedding blogger but looks really lovely. Lydia and Lloyd were impressed as well, and used the venue’s recommended suppliers who they were very pleased with.

Before I share all the images I want to introduce today’s wedding blog with a quote from Lydia which brought tears to my eyes. Talking about the wedding ceremony, she says, “it was as if the world around us did not exist anymore, it was only HIM and ME. Only when we kissed and everybody started clapping did we realize we weren’t alone at all, and everyone who was important to us, close family and friends, were with us.

There’s a tear in my eye already – it can be quite emotional, being a wedding blogger! With every wedding submission that lands in my inbox I wait for the photo which ‘gets me’ – in this case it was Leanne’s expression as Callum gave his speech which brought that tear.

I know you’ll love today’s wedding blog – it’s special because Leanne and Callum had a very personal wedding. I always ask couples to describe their wedding style, and their answer was sweet and simple: “our own!

The images are by reportage wedding photographer Adam Riley. My huge thanks to Adam, and to Leanne and Callum for sharing your wedding story with us today. Congratulations to an amazing couple! Everyone – enjoy! Claire xxx

A little about the wedding ceremony:

We got married at the venue in front of a huge stone hearth surrounded by plants grown by our friend James, including giant sunflowers in pots, grasses and wild flowers. The ceremony itself was short but meaningful… just the way we wanted it.

Oh my word. I honestly don’t know where to start… today’s wedding is absolutely out of this world. The images are compelling, the design and styling are gorgeous – and best of all, Laura and James had such an amazing day – their very own personal wedding, styled to suit their characters and loves, from music (and lots of it) to playful and gorgeous photography… I LOVE this!

UK wedding blog personal style ideas Marshal Gray photo (2)

There’s something about London wedding photographer Marshal Gray which sets him way above the crowd: he captures the beauty and atmosphere of a wedding day in such a unique and contemporary style. Star of all the top UK wedding blogs, his weddings are beautiful without exception – and James and Laura give a glowing review. You’re about to see why!

I have to add that today’s bride and groom are a fantastic couple – Laura describes their wedding style as “totally ours. Loosely based on an English country garden wedding but with a vintagey vibes and a shabby chic twist.” This is the perfect example of a wedding celebration which follows its own rules, beautifully and with an unforgettable style.

What a week it’s been! From snow through to… well, more snow, and here at English Wedding Blog towers we’ve had some gorgeous weddings and ideas I’m so proud to have been able to share with you. It’s been a week of new sponsors, and lovely brides and grooms, and exciting times for wedding blogs generally – and I’ve seen some brilliant ideas and real weddings online. Want to see?

Real weddings

Hello everyone! Time to take five… drop your pens, put on your “I’m only pretending to work” face (but keep it convincing) and smile! Today’s wedding feature is short and oh-so-sweet… as was the whole wedding planning journey for Liliya & Adenis before their wedding in Nottingham.

Nottingham Council House wedding (1)

Gary from wedding photographers oneLove told me that Liliya & Adenis are Russian (Although Adenis is half Cuban) but live in England. The whole wedding was arranged within 3 weeks so that their families were able to attend. They wanted a typical Nottingham wedding & so they chose the iconic Nottingham Council House.

Liliya is the most beautiful bride and together they make such a lovely couple. Friends and family are an important part of today’s wedding blog, with the bridesmaids often taking centre stage! I hope you love the images – it’s the first time I’ve seen inside Nottingham Council House, so join me and enjoy this real wedding on English Wedding Blog today!

Good morning everyone! Today I have an advice feature for you to share with your chief bridesmaid or maid of honour, written by the very lovely Rebecca Lee – who happens to be a bit of an expert when it comes to hen weekends and more. So do have a read and pass Rebecca’s tips on to your best girls – I’ll be posting a link to this feature on my facebook page for you all as well. Enjoy! Claire xxx

So your best friend has just got engaged and as her best friend / sister or close family member she has asked you to be her chief bridesmaid. Amazing! This is a great role in the wedding party, but it is also one of responsibility. To make sure you enjoy the lead up to the big day and the wedding itself, here are some great tips on what you should know as the chief bridesmaids or maid of honour.
