Happy Sunday lovelies! We’re heading up to the Lakes today to catch up with family, and hoping for a dry day with views! I hope you’ve got lovely Sunday plans too 🙂
I thought I’d share today’s beautiful wedding on the blog a little earlier than normal (because we all have Sunday things to do, don’t we?!) Emma and Stefan’s day is oh so elegant, with classic styling touches and plenty of summer sunshine. Emma looks stunning in a Mark Lesley dress, perfect for Prestwold Hall‘s sophisticated and timeless surroundings.

Prestwold is a beautiful country house and did not need much decoration. We stuck to decorating the tables for the wedding breakfast and a few things around the bar. The flowers were arranged by Lynn at Scent with Love. We all had a bouquet of peach Vuvuzela Roses, Memory lane Roses and gypsophila, posy style with a few diamantes and tied with satin ribbon.

I love Ben & Sarah’s barn wedding – they’re both gorgeous, Sarah’s dress is beautiful and they look just perfect together. I also adore the outdoor shots – those huge trees are one of my favourite things in wedding photography this year! – and the venue is pretty amazing with books lining all the walls. I really like their unique stationery as well, and Sarah’s bouquet is fabulous. I’m sure you’ll be inspired by all their awesome details too!

Sarah told me they didn’t have to do much decoration inside their venue: “The Barn speaks for itself decor-wise… we went for a cosy/rustic style throughout the day and because our surname is McGregor we sourced all sorts of ribbon and fabric in the McGregor tartan to give it a personal touch.

Hi everyone! Just a quickie this morning as I’m catching up after visiting my brand new nephew yesterday. He’s the cutest little thing… so perfect and tiny. I’m now a proud Auntie to Matthew Aidan, and even prouder of my little sister and her husband for becoming someone’s Mummy and Daddy. So forgive me for a short but sweet* blog feature today!

*Sweet is, of course, the key word here. I was given the delightful task of reviewing delicious samples from The English Cheesecake Company a few weeks ago. They very kindly sent me some mini cheesecakes and then cheesecake cupcakes which I’ve already shown you on the blog. In a nutshell, these were gorgeous and I’d happily recommend them for your wedding if you’re not into having a traditional tiered fruit cake.

Out of the goodness of my heart (and the generosity of my tummy) I have been busy reviewing cheesecakes on your behalf. Isn’t that lovely! Hehe – the English Cheesecake Company sent me some of their yummy cheesecake cupcakes to taste and tell you about. I’m only too happy to oblige!

Loads of couples are experimenting with alternatives to the traditional tiered wedding cake. Smaller cakes and cheesecakes can be part of a creative display which looks fab. They’re also convenient because you can serve guests a piece of cheesecake or a cupcake for their dessert. This makes so much more sense than the tradition of tiered cakes which then have to be taken away and sliced, then either served after the main meal or given to guests to take home.

The English Cheesecake Company have rather ingeniously combined cheesecakes and cupcakes – which they describe as a “heavenly piece of luxury you won’t be able to resist”.

It’s true. With a little help from my boyfriend, I had eight (not all at once).

Mmmm… cheesecake! Over the last couple of weeks I’ve shared some of my favourite tiered wedding cakes as well as this blog post full of advice about real cheese cakes for your wedding. But today’s blog post about mini wedding cheesecakes goes above and beyond the call of duty for this wedding blogger! We’re talking thorough research, scientific questions and a rush of willing volunteer taste testers – all so we can bring you a Proper Review of mini cheesecakes.
