Today’s wedding is breathtaking – there are moments here when I forgot to breathe, the images are so beautiful! I love the elegance that runs through the whole day, the smiles, the black and white images, the little details and the spectacular venue Nick and Lucy chose for their Surrey wedding.

“Our flowers were arranged by the lovely Lisa Jordan. We were really keen to stick to soft pastels to fit with our theme, so I went with pale pinks and ivory in my bouquet – sweet avalanche roses, ivory spray roses, ivory freesias and eucalyptus – whilst the bridesmaids had the same in just ivory. We bought all of the vases and mirror plates ourselves for the centre pieces as it worked out a little cheaper, then asked Lisa to arrange displays of white lilies, eucalyptus and grasses. We had pale blue sashes on the chairs so we kept the centre pieces neutral which looked really smart. The mother of the groom put together little posies for the pew ends at the church which we brought with us to the venue in little jam jars to decorate the bar area.”

Hello there my lovelies, welcome to the weekend! It seems like only moments have passed since last weekend’s excitement at The Handmade Fair – where we were lucky enough to spend the afternoon in the company of the fabulous Karen Flower. Karen has been featured on the English Wedding Blog many times – her wedding photography is just beautiful. I’m delighted to be able to welcome Karen back as a sponsor of the English Wedding Blog today – she comes highly recommended as a talented photographer and one of the loveliest people I’ve met on my travels too!

Karen told me wedding photography “goes beyond just taking photos of what’s in front of me: it is about anticipating moments, looking for connections between people and telling a story of your wedding by linking all the elements of your day together.

She looks for good light and interesting compositions to make your photos look special but also truthful and real. Your wedding day is about you, and Karen will be there to capture who you are, who you love and how you like to celebrate.
