Today’s gorgeous real wedding is all about beautiful bride Leigh and her gorgeous groom Karl, their minimal, elegant wedding with a divine bouquet, fabulous stationery and the most breathtaking coastal location you can imagine. Oh, and it’s hard to believe this is true, but they married in November. Just look at those endless blue skies…

We chose to get married at Talland Bay Hotel http://www.tallandbayhotel.co.uk. We looked at a few other venues around Cornwall but Talland was the perfect fit for our small wedding. It is a stunning Cliffside boutique hotel. We booked the whole hotel for 2 nights allowing our guests to travel down from the West Midlands and have plenty of time in Cornwall.

Talland is such an eclectic mix of paintings, pictures, ornaments etc that we didn’t need to style the rooms at all. I added the flowers and a few decorations around the fireplace only. We chose not to have a cake, but we did have delicious desserts and a Cheese Board at the end of the Wedding Breakfast.

Do you love where you live? Do you have a favourite place where you can disappear and just sink yourself into a feeling of how beautiful the world is? I’m lucky: there are so many spots around my home on the edge of the Lakes, and it’s wonderful to see amazing photographers appreciating just how stunning this place is. Wedding photographer Jo Bradbury just took the place I love to a whole new level...

The striking seashore at Rampside on the edge of The Lake District was the inspiration behind this coastal styled shoot. With its quirky Victorian lighthouse, rusting fishing boats and grey green seagrass the shoreline made a perfect backdrop for a romantic and elegant sea themed bridal look.

Rampside itself is somewhat off the well trodden Lake District tourist trail, but is an absolute gem of a place with a sweeping coastline from which you can get a small ferry to Piel Island.

I adore Natalie and Gary’s seaside wedding in Cornwall- the portraits on the beach are fabulous, I adore the light and the setting – and Natalie’s bouquet is stunning! So colourful 🙂 I think you’ll LOVE this so grab a cuppa and enjoy…

Cornwall wedding on the English Wedding Blog with Luna Photography (29)

Natalie looks incredible in her wedding dress, and all the more so when you read her honest thoughts about dress shopping – I just LOVE the advice Natalie has shared in her English Wedding Blog interview.

I didn’t fall in love with my wedding dress until the day! All I can say is… What you think you want, probably won’t be what you go with! Be open to styles, trust those around you too. I must’ve tried on 70 dresses… I became dress blind… I was fed up… I was fussy…
It’s such a huuuuge thing, that every time I thought I’d found the one, I slept on it then hated it the next day. I was fixated on dresses with a high neck line, I didn’t want lots of detail and jewels, and I didn’t want to spend more than £1200…

I messed up: this gorgeous wedding slipped through my net on the back of the most amazing wedding cake… and so we’re featuring an Australian wedding (first time!) on the English Wedding Blog. Oops! But oh, you’re going to love me for it, I promise!

See what I mean?!

While you may not be able to book the suppliers from Ailsa and Phil’s special day (unless you’re heading to Oz for a destination wedding, you lucky thing!) you will most certainly fall in love with all of the ideas from this stunning cinema wedding.

Images are by the pretty amazing On Three Photography, who are based in Melbourne. It’s the furthest wedding I’ve ever featured on the English Wedding Blog, but it’s worth breaking every rule for… I promise.

The flowers are rich and colourful; the light up letters are fabulous, the bride and groom are gorgeous and the landscapes (and seascapes) are out of this world.

Rachael and Ashley chose the most amazing location for their wedding – Torre Abbey is a Devon landmark with a rich history and fabulous sea views… and I fell in love with the breathtaking landscapes as soon as I saw this gorgeous couple’s wedding gallery.

Rachael and Ashley chose the Spanish barn at Torre Abbey for their wedding and reception. The space is decorated with a starry canopy of fairy lights set in contrast to the dark oak beams – and with the spikes of greenery and those fabulous narrow windows the barn looks just wonderful.

Jennifer took the newlyweds to Thatcher Rock for a moment or two to enjoy each other’s company. The portraits from this part of the day are some of my favourites. The lightness of the seascape, the unmistakeable location and the romance of the Devon coast are what make this wedding so wonderfully unique and special.

Happy Thursday lovelies! How are you this crisp December morning? It’s a special day (my parents’ wedding anniversary – happy anniversary!!!) and I’m celebrating with a really magical wedding on the blog – I think you’ll love it. I love weddings which are stripped bare of fluff and which focus on the true meaning and reason for the day of celebration.

An intimate wedding by the beach with Chris Randle Photography Durham UK (15)

Don’t get me wrong: I’m a lover of fluff… but I adore romance and I sort of think it’s a responsibility of wedding bloggers not to get too carried away. Today’s wedding is everything it needs to be; I’ve said many times here that intimate weddings are my favourites. All you need is each other – and the smiles on beautiful bride Natasha and her hubby Gareth’s faces are testament to that.

Durham wedding photographer Chris Randle got in touch and I had a proper nosey around his blog – so this wedding is one I chose for an English Wedding Blog feature. It’s beautiful, romantic, and special. I feel so lucky that Chris was there as Natasha and Gareth’s photographer: being able to feature intimate weddings with beautiful photography is such a privilege for any wedding blogger.

Today’s real bride Melanie has one of those smiles which light up a room – she’s such a stunning bride and the images from her Norfolk wedding to James are wonderful.

Norfolk wedding photography by Rob Dodsworth (1)

I adore a seaside wedding – Melanie’s top tip for other couples is to “Enjoy every second – it’s over in a flash!  Do something special away from the crowd – Rob, our photographer, took Jim and I down to the beach and it was lovely to have some alone time with Jim!  I really remember that being special.” It most certainly looks like a magical and romantic moment when you see the images!

With thanks to today’s gorgeous real bride and groom Melanie and James. Their wedding report is at the end of today’s feature and includes a handy supplier list for other Norfolk brides and grooms – so do check it out! Thanks also to wedding photographer Rob Dodsworth for sharing his images of their beautiful day. Everyone – enjoy!

I’m just trying to remember who was the last celebrity to feature on the English Wedding Blog. There haven’t been many, safe to say! Eric Morecambe in today’s seaside wedding is quite possibly the coolest – see what you think: we’ve had David Mitchell (from Mitchell & Webb), the ex lead singer from 70s punk band The Stranglers, and Kirstie Allsopp. That’s probably about it.

seaside wedding blog Jonathan Bean (1)

(David Mitchell was a wedding guest on a blog feature last year. The Stranglers’ singer wasn’t in any photos, and Kirstie Allsopp just wrote a book my calligraphy was in. So yeah, I’m stretching the truth here! Oh – did I mention Eric Morecambe appears here in statue form? Hehe.)

seaside wedding blog Jonathan Bean (2)

To be honest I’m not into celeb culture – I don’t read magazines very often and I’m rarely aware of anything Kim Kardashian does. I don’t think I’m missing anything! The glamorous couples I’d rather read about are the brides and grooms who appear on the English Wedding Blog – like today’s star couple Charlotte and Phil. They were married at Morecambe’s fabulous Midland Hotel, an internationally renowned art deco wedding venue. Their seaside wedding has oodles of personality and style – you’re going to love it!

chester wedding blog photographer (17)Today’s wedding blog is a delicious mix of contrasting images: the typical English seaside, the beautiful bride and her timeless glamour; the sand and dunes set against cloudy skies, the delicate purple butterfly wedding theme. Becky and Guy make a great looking couple, and their wedding has everything: elegance, style, individuality and character.

The wedding day as it happened

I arrived at the venue in a horse and carriage, it was a very memorable moment and such a lovely way to start the day and take in all the scenery. We had a civil ceremony. We had pictures taken on the shore which was a lot of fun. We set off lanterns which is a good idea to do after the meal, so people don’t get bored waiting for the evening to start. After the first dance we just danced all night – it was great fun.

Portmeirion is enchanting: a Welsh village, built to resemble an Italian one, with colourful little houses and too cute for words! So I couldn’t resist Simon and Rachael’s wedding – I think you’ll love it. It fits perfectly with the surroundings: quirky and lots of fun.

Rachael wore a gorgeous little vintage inspired wedding dress, very Audrey Hepburn I think! With a birdcage veil and the cutest shoes to go with it. And Simon is a super cool groom (I want his glasses!).

Their wedding photographer is Martin Lyons, who told me, “This wedding was very much an intimate affair with only 24 guests & the bride and groom.”

Martin said, “In some ways this wedding was very different to others, the ceremony was very intimate which was lovely! Fortunately we managed to escape a monster downpour which came just before the groups, I then spent 45 mins with the bride & groom before the meal. There were no speeches (1st time ever). That’s what I love about weddings they are all so different! All together it was a fun, intimate, relaxed day.”

As the weather gets warmer, our intrepid wedding fan gets excited at the thought of seaside weddings – and this caught his eye: a boutique wedding from Devon wedding photographer Rosie Parsons‘s blog.

Love is...

The wave of beautiful vintage themed weddings just doesn’t seem to stop – and I’m really loving all the gorgeous vintage wedding photography around at the moment.

Allison and Jeremy had a gorgeous wedding day in Wales, complete with pink rose flower arrangements Allison had made herself, a beautiful and unusual wedding venue, and a wedding dress and lace shrug that are out of this world!

Allison and Jeremy chose Devon based photographers Lime Leaf Weddings to capture their day. I’m a big fan of Laura and Henley’s photography work, and this series of amazing wedding images is one of their best: the wonderful lightness in every image makes me wonder if they carried along their own little sunshine in a bag with the camera equipment. Enjoy…
