Loulabelle (aka Louise) became a friend and a regular source of hilarity as I followed her wedding blog at Met My Match through 2011. As a writer she is simply wonderful. I believe I may have begged to blog her wedding. There’s no shame in that. Such an enterprising, intelligent, creative and beautiful lady?! I had to see her wedding pics!

So Louise planned her countryside creative wedding with a fabulous vintage twist. One thing I hadn’t seen on her blog was that Garry, her groom, was a policeman. Cue vintage police car as a surprise – along with the loveliest driver to chauffeur the boys around.

Of course Louise’s own beloved Bertie (the Beetle) took pride of place carrying the bride and her dad to the church…

As a surprise I’d arranged a vintage police car to collect Garry, his best man and two ushers who are all Metropolitan Police Officers. The driver Ernie, was fantastic! He even wore his old uniform to add to the experience. Garry was so chuffed when he saw the Police Car rock up outside his best man’s. And the driver was just sooooooooooooo lovely!!!

My heart skipped a little when wedding photographer Scott Foley got in touch with this one: bride Pamela is a fan of English Wedding Blog so I’m really proud to post a story and a few pictures of their lovely wedding at Dukes 92. I love a wedding which is all about friends and family, and while Pamela and Andy’s wedding is beautiful for its elegance and simplicity as far as the decor goes, the love and fun shared with everyone on the day is what shines through.

Pamela is such a naturally beautiful girl, and absolutely radiant when you see the pictures of her with Andy, with their little boy and with all the children on the wedding day. So I’m absolutely delighted to share this pretty young mum’s wedding on the blog today.

With thanks to Scott Foley of Foley Photography for sharing images with us, and congratulations and huge thanks to Pamela and Andy for a really lovely wedding report.

Enjoy!

Emma and Hieu were married in the “Palladian Mansion House” of Combe Bank School in Kent. How exciting does that sound, for starters? Emma chose a purple theme for the wedding day, and her attention to detail with all the decor on the day is so impressive I’m calling this wedding feature ‘Perfect in Purples’!

With lovely images from Eliza Claire Photography, and Emma’s own report of the wedding day, I’ll leave this feature to Emma and Eliza to share with you. You’ll love it!

I chose a wedding dress by designer Myring Kesterton (MMK), a pure silk traditional lace up corseted gown with layered skirt adorned with pick ups and ivory flowers. The back of the dress had a large bustle that was finished off with the same flowers on the front of the dress. The dress style was ‘Mimi’, bought from Marianne Jessica in Bromley, Kent.

Morning everyone! I hope you slept well last night… or were you, like me, wondering if our lovely groom Bruno would survive yesterday’s flower girl feather stick ambush?! Well I have good news for you… he did! And today I’m delighted to bring you part two of the 200th real wedding on English Wedding Blog.

Thanks again to Chris Hanley Photography for sharing such incredible images for this feature. I am always blown away by the magic inside Chris’s camera. Today we’re back at Hengrave Hall in Suffolk for more from beautiful Suzy and Bruno – who is responsible for my favourite image from this wedding day: the most loving hug you’ll ever see on a wedding blog!

Enjoy. xx

This is a lovely idea: the tiny panels of glass in the windows of Hengrave Hall afford us a private glimpse of Suzy and Bruno together. I love proper panelled glass windows when they sparkle in the sunshine – to see them used so beautifully in a wedding picture is a treat!

This one had to be special. When I blog a wedding I look for creativity, for ideas, for beauty. English Wedding blog features are about elegance and quality, about enjoyment, diversion and making our eyes happy. Real wedding number two hundred had to have something more.

Real wedding blog (23)

I found Suzy and Bruno’s wedding on Chris Hanley‘s blog. It’s packed with wow – so much so, I’m blogging the wedding day in three parts. Today: join me in a virtual stroll around Hengrave Hall wedding venue where we’ll set the scene for the day, meet the beautiful Suzy, her charming new husband Bruno and their pretty bridesmaids all enjoying the luxury of one of Suffolk’s finest stately homes.

Real wedding blog (22)

Wedding blogs are all about the photography. So English Wedding’s 200th feature had to have the most exquisite photographs – I know it’s what YOU want to see! (I’ve even checked the Love My Dress blog reader survey on this: 33% of blog readers put photography as the most important element of their wedding)

Emma and Richard’s wedding at Homme House is a real treat: it couldn’t be more English Wedding-y if we were all sitting here drinking Earl Grey and munching on scones while reading this blog post and waving union jacks*. I loved it the minute I saw this wedding on Anneli Marinovich’s wedding photography blog. Wedding day croquet on the lawn? Yes please!

Emma is absolutely beautiful, and Anneli captures her radiance so well in these pictures. There are many more I couldn’t fit on the blog post so I’ll urge you all to look at Anneli’s wedding blog post at the end! For now, enjoy my favourite photos from this quintessentially English wedding day.

I sent Emma and Richard my English Wedding Blog questionnaire to find out a little more about the wedding day. Emma told me about her dress, which is “Pronovias Silaba – I bought it from Teokath in Wimbledon.”

real wedding by Chris Cowley (25)

I’ve never been to the Isle of Wight, but Gareth and I recently discovered we have relatives there (long story!) so this wedding day piqued my interest! Katie and Steve were married on the island, at Appuldurcombe House – a partly restored 18th century wedding venue and one of the grandest buildings on the Isle of Wight.

Katie and Steve’s wedding was lovely: a traditional wedding with a pretty white theme, beautiful flowers, a tiered white wedding cake, and lots of fun with children always looking as though they’re just about to jump into the fountain! I didn’t spot my long lost relatives in here, but it’s a gorgeous wedding with lots of ideas to inspire, I hope, brides and grooms who are looking to have an elegant, understated but beautiful wedding day.

Oh, and there’s a white vintage scooter starring in one of the group photos. I love it! I’m ashamed to say Gareth and I can’t identify even whether it’s a Lambretta or Vespa, but it’s gorgeous!

Morning everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week. As things are still a little at sixes and sevens here in English Wedding Towers* I’m sharing another treat from the English Wedding Showcase blog with you today. This is Louise and Will’s wedding – or a part of it.

My fabulous friends and sponsors McAvoy Wedding Photography have been writing up their real weddings as little mini-series over the last few weeks, which I love! It means the English Wedding Showcase is a thriving and busy blog full of real weddings. This is part four (count ’em!) of Louise and Will’s wedding entitled “In The City” – with my favourite pictures from their day.

“Last month we had a fab time photographing Louise and Will’s lovely Midland Hotel wedding. It was a gorgeous blend of luxury and handmade personal details with a pink and rock music theme. Today is all about Louise and Will-taking a stroll in the city, toasting their wedding in the intimacy of the honeymoon suite and sharing their love on the dancefloor.

Please forgive me for a little lapse in brand new blog posts this week – if you saw yesterday’s post you’ll know why. In the meantime – brainwave – I am sharing real weddings via my friends and sponsors from the English Wedding Showcase. You’ll love this one from documentary wedding photographer Martin Beddall – enjoy!

Last Sunday’s wedding at Nutfield Priory hotel near Redhill, Surrey for Anya and Mikey …and their son, Leo, not to be left out of the action, he crashed the vows! A great, fun, laidback couple ( they met at Glastonbury ), I posted their engagement shoot – in the Dragon’s lair, a few weeks back – and the wedding was a fun, happy day, with Leo grabbing as much attention as the bride and groom!

Morning everyone! We’ve more love from Scotland on the blog today, and it’s smiles all the way: if you’re easily shocked look away before we get to the bit where the best men raise their kilts… (I’m only joking)

There are some really beautiful wedding photos here: Andy and Bec had a beautiful wedding reception and it’s really great to see smiles on all the wedding guests’ faces – as well as the sheer delight from new husband and wife Andy and Bec.

Who remembers blinking in amazement and squealing in delight at the couple whose mad, exciting and painty engagement shoot I featured a little while ago? The one where they got covered in it, wrote LOVE on the wall and had to go home painted pink, yellow and blue from head to toe?

It was brilliant. I loved it. You loved it… with all your blog comments it went down a treat. And then David and Rachel got married. And the wedding day is EVEN BETTER! (of course it is… but as creative and inspiring and fun goes, it’s just incredible).

Rachel wrote the loveliest wedding report to share with us. So I’ll hand over to excellent wedding photographer Lucy West for the wedding pictures (part one) and to gorgeous bride Rachel to tell you all about it.

copyright Lucy West Images wedding photographer (1) “If there was one thing we wanted our wedding to be it would be fun, and I think we certainly achieved that! A lack of funds teamed with an overwhelming urge to be creative made our wedding quite unique. Our main themes were newspaper, buttons, graffiti paint and all things colourful!

Claudia and John’s wedding day is a beautiful celebration of love and has all the best bits of that ‘quintessentially’ English style thrown in. I adore the style of Australian weddings – as a big fan of Ruffled blog and Style Me Pretty I see lots of gorgeous Aussie wedding receptions and they’re always fabulous. So when wedding photographer Richard Rayner sent me this beautiful Devon wedding of a couple who live in Australia I was over the moon!

Claudia wrote a beautiful report of her day, so I’ll leave the words to the beautiful bride.

Oh – and this wedding is in two parts with a bonus wedding inspiration board at the end… so keep coming back to English Wedding blog for more this week!
