We both love the vintage scene, but this covers a few different eras! On our invitations, we stated Hollywood Glamour as the dress code and our overall theme was eclectic vintage… we had styles from 1930 to 1950!

Pete made all of our wedding stationery!! He’s fantastic with designing things and he’s very creative… he found inspiration in the Art Deco designs on the 20’s and 30’s and created our very own Great Gatsby style invitations! This meant that we could have the exact format and style that we wanted… old movie tickets! They were perfect for our theme and the guests loved them. It was a labour of love though… these things take time!! Also, our save the date was styled as an old movie poster – again, Pete created these!

We used bright spring colours for our flowers – peaches, lilacs, yellows & pinks. James from Detta Phillips is brilliant – they looked spectacular.

Don’t miss Chris and Annie’s wise advice (and genuine supplier recommendations) for you lovely lot, which you’ll find just after the photos if you scroll through the full feature today. “We designed and made our wedding stationery ourselves. It was a really enjoyable experience and we were really proud of our handiwork once they were finished. We made place cards and table plan in the same style as the invitations. Our navy & burgundy spotty theme ran throughout from the save the dates to the orders of ceremony and menus. We also designed print-outs of readings and songs to frame & sign with messages as thank you gifts.

Testament to his style of working, one of our wedding party has already booked Neil for her wedding. From the run up to the wedding, through the day and thereafter Neil has been fantastic.

I love today’s wedding: the bright colours and gorgeous styling of Jodi and James’s vintage garden party, in the beautifully restored Farbridge barns, are just glorious. And the bride and groom are the loveliest, happiest couple ever – they look just fabulous too!

Images are by lovely Neil Walker, who is based in Sussex and loves Farbridge! “I shoot weddings at Farbridge quite regularly & it is definitely one of my favourite venues. Nickie & the team there are great & the light is wonderful in the courtyard & even in the barn where there are lots of windows, unusually for a barn. To cap it all, Simon the chef makes wonderful food, definitely the best food of any venue I know, & that’s saying something!”

Morning lovelies! I hope you’ve got a fun day planned – but before you head out do have a scroll through today’s gorgeous English wedding – it’s full of elegant style and classic ideas, with a wonderful reception at a sailing club (and of course some stunning beach shots!)

The church was in the beautiful Sussex village of Findon, we then went on to Worthing Sailing Club, which of course is right on the beach. I was able to take advantage of the beach huts and the beach itself to get some beautiful photos of the two of them. The Sailing club itself has big windows all down the beach side, so I had wonderful light to play with for all the photos in the afternoon.

Sublime calligraphy, a magnificent venue and a dream dress make today’s wedding blog a real treat. Jennifer and Marcus married at Buckinghamshire’s beautifully boutique hotel Stoke Place in early summer, and their wedding has timeless style and effortless elegance – I hope you will love it as much as I do!

Shot on a beautifully sunny day in June, this & the locations made for a quintessentially English wedding, all the more unusual because Jennifer is from the US. The clash of cultures was what made it memorable as we had celebrations & ceremonies from each country.

Stoke Place is a wonderful venue, bright & airy, the light is fantastic for me as a photographer. The gardens made it easy to have everyone outside, but also have enough space to take Jennifer & Marcus off for some photos of the two of them without everyone else being able to see us. Isabel Smith’s wedding planning made for a very smooth day as she coordinated with Stoke Place.

There’s something thrilling about today’s wedding venue – it’s like being allowed a peek into another world of grandeur, and tradition, and of centuries of English history… and I love how Hannah and Seb styled their wedding with classic touches (top hat & tails included!) to suit the magnificent location for their day: the Palace of Westminster (also known as the Houses of Parliament).

“Neil was fantastic from start to finish. He took the time to get to know us and find out what we wanted; a mixture of formal and informal photographs… When we saw our professional shots, we were absolutely blown away! Neil captured so much more than just an image; it was as though each picture told a story and took us through the journey of our special day. His artistic style, photographic skill and experience shone through, encompassing magical moments that we will cherish forever.” ~ Hannah & Seb

I LOVE these two! Tammy & Andy – you. are. awesome! From the very first photo of your day I found myself smiling right back at my screen… there is no one in the world more beautiful than a blissfully happy bride and groom. Today we have a London wedding in glorious sunshine with the most amazing bouquet and florals in deliciously decadent purples and blues by Floriography Cornwall.

I get the impression Tammy & Andy smile a LOT. Their reaction to seeing their wedding photos for the first time:

We were both smiling from ear to ear – which is exactly what we wanted. Neil had taken the time to set some of the shots in a slideshow to some music – I think it is fair to say, that when that slideshow finished, everyone who has seen it has said, “wow!”. There are some great memories captured there forever, and our guests all look brilliant. I still grin each time I seem them.”

Neil’s approach to wedding photography is creative and inspiring: Neil Walker Photography weddings are all about energy.

Neil says every individual couple’s story brings its own energy to a wedding – along with their friends and family and the way everyone interacts on the day. He captures those fleeting looks and touches between brides and grooms, the laughter and smiles as friends and family chat and catch up – all of the precious little moments which come together to create a story and a wonderful atmosphere on your wedding day.

Kate & Russell’s wedding is a wonderfully colourful, homemade celebration with some fabulous creative details and lovely moments. Their table plan is divine: you’d never know it was made in a panic the day before the wedding, along with the other reception stationery – it’s so lovely!

Friends and family helped with all aspects of the wedding – Kate says “friends and contacts can be incredibly generous with their time and talents, you just have to ask!”

We had quite a lot of fun trying different cocktail recipes out for the alcoholic, non-fizzy reception drink option.  Making 1.5 litres each of fresh lime, lemon and orange juice the day before was a little less fun…”

… and in case you wonder about the Greek statues, Kate explains, “the entertainment was all arranged for me.  Two dancers dressed as a Greek God and Goddess greeted me to beckon me into church.  The aim was to help me relax and laugh, and it certainly worked!”

Good morning lovely! Today we have the loveliest countryside wedding for you, with beautiful bride Victoria and her gorgeous groom Will. Theirs was such a warm, welcoming and relaxed country wedding – from the old English pub before the ceremony through to the (awesome!) dancing – and yes, we have the photos! – this is wonderful.

Victoria told me “It’s amazing how many hidden talents you’ll find amongst family and friends and everyone was so willing and keen to help which was brilliant & we really appreciated everyone’s input.” Her sister made the cake; a friend provided all of their wedding stationery and the table plan was brilliantly handcrafted by the bride’s cousin.

Images are by lovely Neil Walker Photography, who is based in Sussex. Neil explained about a little surprise Victoria’s father had in store… “In all my time as a Sussex wedding photographer I’ve never seen one before, but apparently it’s a Sussex tradition that the bride is pulled in a cart to the church by her father & then once she is married she is pulled away from the church by her new husband. Having spend some time getting ready and with her beautiful wedding dress on I was so impressed to see Vicky laugh and get into the cart.
