Hello! Are there any other book lovers out there this morning? There was a very sharp intake of breath here when I first saw where beautiful bride Hannah married her husband Nick, and fellow bookworms will be as enchanted by this as I was! Yes – it’s a library wedding. Today’s real wedding comes from the Memorial Library at Malvern College. Gorgeous, inspiring and a bit of a dream come true, I have to admit!

I owe huge thanks to my lovely friends and wedding photographers Rob and Sarah Gillespie, who submitted this wedding for the blog. I do hope you love it as much as I do! But my heart is bursting even more with gratitude to Hannah and Nick for sharing their day with us all. They’ve injected such personality into their wedding day from start to finish I just wish I could have been there! Pretty much my dream wedding… so enjoy! Claire xxx

Jonny and Amelia make the most adorable couple! Their Dorset wedding looks beautiful; and they tell a story of a beautiful celebration filled with love and laughter. I’m over the moon to be sharing their wedding on the blog today. The overall style is country chic, with wonderful details from flowers to corn dollies. Watch out for the lovely milk churns in the wedding marquee – they’re brilliant! My favourite touch has to be Amelia’s Dad’s surprise… but you’ll have to read on to find out more!

Images are by the very lovely Tom Redman, and at the end of the blog today you’ll find Amelia and Jonny’s wedding report and list of recommended wedding suppliers. I hope you love this wonderfully sunny, warm and charming wedding as much as I do! I almost feel as though I was there… it’s just fabulous. And isn’t Amelia stunning? Enjoy! Claire xxx

Hi everyone! I have a really beautiful wedding to share with you again today. Tania and Mark’s style is that of a typically English wedding – just the right amount of frills but no fuss; a gracefully styled day with love, friends and family taking centre stage. The sun shone, the cows came out to see what was going on, the marquee looked glorious and the bride is a beauty. Together Tania and Mark make a gorgeous couple – and their wedding in Suffolk should inspire a few of you I’m sure!

We created our own invites and stationery which was hard work but probably saved near to £700. We also sourced our own bar for the evening, which made it cheaper for everybody attending.

Simon and Lucie’s garden party wedding is amazing and then some! I adore this couple because they managed to balance everything so perfectly – it looks amazing, but the focus is still on family, friends and celebration. I’ve a feeling you’ll adore this wedding feature just as much as I do – it’s wonderful.

The images are beautiful, so I will let those speak for themselves. The wedding photographer is Mark from Evolve Photography in Devon – a lovely guy and a busy one as well… he’s getting married in a week or so to Natasha from Pumpkin and Pye! Good luck guys 🙂

Huge congratulations to the lovely Lucie and Simon, and thank you for sharing your day with us on the English Wedding Blog. It’s beautiful and your wedding report is heartwarming. I wish you both the very, very best for a wonderful future together!

Sometimes wedding blogs are very much like weddings – they have different personalities and flavours. On some occasions and for some of us details are important, a project to embrace and enjoy. At other times it’s all about the emotion, spending a memorable day with people we love and celebrating marriage together. Today is one of those days for me.
Hampshire marquee wedding by Bob Owen Photography (2)

I stumbled across Caroline and Scott’s wedding on Hampshire photographer Bob Owen‘s blog and asked if he’d be so kind as to let me share his images with you. Bob said yes (lovely man that he is!) and Caroline was an absolute star filling out my English Wedding Blog questionnaire. I’m really pleased to be sharing their wedding with you on the blog today and I hope you’ll love the photos as well as the words of advice from this fantastic couple.

The highlight for me is Caroline’s advice about spending time with friends and family – something which rings very true for me as I missed so much of my sister’s wedding. So I’m starting today’s real wedding feature with the bride’s very own advice, written especially for you, lovely reader! I hope you enjoy the blog post. Claire xxx

Hello! Here is a picture of Kirstie Allsopp stroking one of my handwritten calligraphy name tags. So proud…

Calligraphy ideas for your own vintage wedding

I’ve just had the loveliest email about my calligraphy from Amy and Craig’s vintage wedding earlier this year. I wanted to share some of it with you, because I’m proud and because I love the way Kirstie Allsopp created something really beautiful from a very simple handwritten luggage name tag!

kirstie allsopp vintage wedding (1)Kirstie and her fab team at Raise The Roof Productions worked with wedding suppliers to design these luscious table decorations and place settings.

The flowers and foliage are incredible, but you can create your own gorgeous place settings with a few simple steps too. If writing your own calligraphy, use a colourful gel pen and add big loops to your handwriting – it will look quirky and suit a vintage wedding theme.

It’s going to be a beautiful day. I’ve woken up this morning feeling happy and excited about the real wedding I’m about to share with you. Genny and Jon’s marquee wedding at home is just wonderful and I know you’ll love it.

marquee wedding by Brett Symes (44)

The overall tone of their wedding day is countryside charm with elegant touches. Genny’s wedding dress begins the day pristine and then meets a field… there’s plenty of laughter with some adorable cheeky faces during the wedding ceremony and reception. The raindrops make this one a beautiful English wedding – the weather becomes a part of the day in these lovely images you’re about to see. Genny and Jon chose Bristol wedding photographer Brett Symes to photograph their marquee wedding at home – he’s fantastic.

I’ll leave you with Genny and Jon’s wedding report and with the images from Brett to enjoy. Have a wonderful morning everyone! Claire x

I’m feeling quite proud of English Wedding Blog this week. Today’s real wedding in Dorset is one reason for my pride – it’s such a lovely countryside wedding day, relaxed and happy and full of ideas.

Wedding photography in Dorset (7)

Andy and Polly were married at Bryanston School Church, Blandford Forum, Dorset. Their wedding reception was in a marquee on the lawn at Hanford School, Child Okeford, Dorset.

They chose Somerset wedding photographer Simon Biffen to photograph their day – and he documents their wedding beautifully. The pictures I have to show you today start with clay pigeon shooting and take us through the wedding ceremony, reception and on to twilight… it’s a beautiful English wedding and I do hope you enjoy the feature!

wedding photography Pippa Mackenzie (1)More sunshine for you… with love from Olivia and Matt. Yesterday I featured their beautiful church wedding and we left them stepping out of the church hand in hand… today it’s time for the reception and it’s just so perfect… lush flowers and a sunny and happy day for you to enjoy.

Photos are by Pippa Mackenzie and words from Olivia. Watch out for a wonderfully eclectic cupcake tower – looking fabulous! – and some impressive shapes ‘thrown’ on the dancefloor… and why not listen to the wedding band while you look at the blog post? I’m enjoying their music as I type!

wedding photography Pippa Mackenzie (2)Throughout the day we could not stop smiling (and neither could our guests). It was a really relaxed and intimate afternoon. We both wanted to have a wedding which was not too regimented which allowed us and our guests to enjoy the day. Olivia’s parents had planned the wedding so well and Phil and Sandra (Pimpernel Associates) were there on the day to make sure everything went smoothly – Sandra was armed with a box of treasures including tights, plasters, nail varnish and sewing kit.
