Victoria and Stefano’s wedding is gorgeous: their style is city chic; they married in Manchester and made their day personal by enlisting friends and family to help – but they didn’t stress about details and focused more on creating an amazing party atmosphere. As Victoria says, “Don’t get carried away paying a fortune for tiny details which may look pretty but go unnoticed! Invest your money in the things that people will remember – the food, drinks and dancing!

Photographer James Tracey told me a little about the day. “I loved shooting Vicky and Stefano’s brilliant, relaxed wedding. What stands out for me as the photographer was that the wedding featured guests and family from all over the world (with Stefano’s family coming over from Italy), yet everyone partied and celebrated together! It was a so much fun from Jager bombs during the bridal preparation, to the hilarious marriage service followed by a brilliant reception all the way through to the night time party with the incredible Brass Funkeys performing live and making the dancefloor literally bounce! A truly awesome wedding.

Hello everyone! Today is all about David and Steph, whose wedding breaks a few of the old-fashioned rules about all the things you ‘have to have’ for your wedding day. This fantastic couple chose one wedding supplier (only!), used kids’ invitations, didn’t have readings, and created an elegant wedding without spending a fortune. I love everything about their intimate wedding in Manchester and can’t wait to share it with you today!

All of the images are by my friend and wedding blog sponsor Phil Drinkwater Photography. Words are by Steph and David, and their story is a very romantic one indeed. I love the ‘marry me’ image, and the mention of David Hasselhoff in their ‘memorable moments’… classic. Enjoy! Claire xxx

UK Manchester wedding blog (53)Hello there lovely readers! I have a treat for you today – a wedding inspired by and focused around the most delicious food and wine. Jessica and Louis got engaged at their family’s vineyard and planned their wedding reception around the most amazing wines. It’s a beautiful celebration in every way: personal, unique and family oriented.

Jessica wears the most exquisite beaded wedding dress and looks absolutely stunning. The back of the dress is gorgeous – so unusual, delicate and flattering. Louis is her perfect match, looking very handsome indeed in a navy suit with crisp white shirt. All of the beautiful images are by the rather wonderful James Melia Photography.

photo credit McAvoy Photography (1)The title of this blog post sums up Anna and Mike’s wedding day in Manchester last summer: their smiles as they walk along the canal path are bursting full of happiness – and I love Anna’s words in her wedding report: “In every photo I am smiling – I don’t think either of us could stop!”.

I always love a bride who wears her glasses with pride too, and I think Anna looks amazing. There’s everything here: a wonderful story, some fabulous ideas and details, and of course the lovely photos by Manchester’s McAvoy Photography.

Enjoy!

Oh, to be a henna artist. Working on Indian weddings would be a dream come true for me. Those fascinating, intricate swirls and squiggles of henna on a bride’s hands always make me shiver in delight. It’s my dream job.

My other dream job is to be a photographer at an Indian wedding. And yet happily I can live through my blog and enjoy all that fabulous colour, sparkle and excitement through the eyes and lens of the lovely Katy Lunsford. Isn’t life brilliant?!

Today I’m sharing Abi and Ajay’s wedding with you. They were married in May last year, at Chadderton Town Hall. Their wedding celebrated family and friends, with traditions taking centre stage throughout the celebrations. The wedding photographs take us from a few days before the wedding with the henna application, through the ceremony and some fabulous portraits of Abi and Ajay at the end of their day.

I hope you love these as much as I do!

This real wedding is bright, exciting and full of colour: from the vintage fire engine, Jezebel, to the striking sunflowers-which-are-better-than-sunflowers… it’s a stunner.

Manchester based Vickerstaff Photography submitted the wedding for our lovely little blog, and I was delighted to see a glorious day unfold through one fabulous image after another. There are some amazing shots here which I know you’ll love to bits. I do – these guys are really special.

When Ivanka sent me her wedding report explaining all the Ukrainian wedding traditions included in her day – well it was more than the icing on the cake. This is a very special wedding and I’m sure you’ll love it – and learn something too*

*I almost called it ‘101 things you didn’t know about weddings’.

Hope you love this one as much as I did. Over to beautiful bride Ivanka to tell you more.

Morning everyone, I hope you’ve had a lovely week. As things are still a little at sixes and sevens here in English Wedding Towers* I’m sharing another treat from the English Wedding Showcase blog with you today. This is Louise and Will’s wedding – or a part of it.

My fabulous friends and sponsors McAvoy Wedding Photography have been writing up their real weddings as little mini-series over the last few weeks, which I love! It means the English Wedding Showcase is a thriving and busy blog full of real weddings. This is part four (count ’em!) of Louise and Will’s wedding entitled “In The City” – with my favourite pictures from their day.

“Last month we had a fab time photographing Louise and Will’s lovely Midland Hotel wedding. It was a gorgeous blend of luxury and handmade personal details with a pink and rock music theme. Today is all about Louise and Will-taking a stroll in the city, toasting their wedding in the intimacy of the honeymoon suite and sharing their love on the dancefloor.
