The English garden wedding theme is one – quite possibly the only one – which will always be on trend. We love the romance of our home-grown flowers, the greenery and scents of hazy summer days – and it’s a style which conjures up memories from childhood, days in the countryside and magical holidays close to home.

Greenery is a huge thing for 2017 – and we love it to bits. This shoot is full of gorgeous foliage and fabulous styling with softer accent colours and statement blooms. Stylist Lauradana from Wedding Creations combines those gorgeous greens with white and soft pinks to create a feminine wedding style I know you’ll love.

I have a little treat for you this Sunday morning… so stay snuggled up with a cuppa and enjoy this pretty country garden celebration from Eastclose Hotel in the New Forest – the flowers are gorgeous, and Kerrie-Ann is breathtaking in her Suzanne Neville gown from Brides of Winchester.

Images are by Jake Moore Photography, who told me “having been to school with Kerrie-Ann it made it so much easier for me to shoot her day plus go more unnoticed than usual as a photographer. I felt more like a guest than at work! The venue is perfect for weddings and each time I go there it gets better with more detail added. The weather always helps as the grounds are too beautiful to miss out on a wedding day.”

I consider myself a fierce supporter of British talent in the wedding industry. I’ve been approached by some major US brands who’d love to feature their wares on the English Wedding Blog… and I’ve always said no. My blog exists to help local brides and grooms find the best suppliers close to home, and I truly love discovering our own amazing designers.

Today’s post is a bit of a reference: straightforward and simple, no frills – a showcase of British based designers’ wedding gowns from London’s White Gallery. Discover dresses from the likes of Emma Hunt, Katya Katya Shehurina (whose beautiful gowns featured in yesterday’s hydrangea inspired wedding shoot), Charlotte Balbier and Naomi Neoh on the blog today.

A unique wedding doesn’t have to be full of out-there ideas or unusual vintage collectibles: on the day what makes a wedding unique is the people you share it with. Shelley and Richard chose to have a traditional wedding with pretty pink styling touches at one of Leicestershire’s loveliest venues: Hothorpe Hall.

Shelley looks amazing – she’s such a beautiful bride. She told me she fell in love with her wedding dress, despite thinking she’d go for a totally different style… and she looks like it was made for her, doesn’t she?

What could be more lovely than a beautiful sunny day in May, an eighteenth century country house hotel and a gorgeous wedding inspired by Pinterest and wedding blogs? Clare and Andrew have written a wonderful wedding report to share with us all and I’m so pleased and proud to have their big day on the English Wedding Blog.

Cubley Hall is a charming Yorkshire wedding venue with period features set in the rolling hills – where Andrew and Clare escaped for a few quiet moments to have some of the loveliest portrait photos I’ve seen. They chose Mark Tierney (Tierney Photography) to capture their wedding and told me he was brilliant, which is always fantastic to hear.
