Hasn’t it felt as though spring is finally here this week? I’ve been walking in the hills before work each morning and enjoying the warmth of the sun on my face – it’s been bliss! And so I wanted to bring a little springtime to the blog for you today. This shoot is full of delicious florals and beautiful Charlotte Balbier gowns, in the loveliest natural setting… and showcases a whimsical bridal style which is just perfect for the warmer months.

Time for a little Pinterest, I think… as today’s Lake District wedding is so full of beautiful, colourful, gorgeous details and flowers I hardly know where to begin. I adore this day: the venue is one I love (see my review from last year), the bride and groom are stunning, and oh, the flowers… just perfect.

The Wild Boar has its own very distinctive décor and did not need much help to create a rustic, vintage vibe. The Wild Boar is full of character with low ceiling beams and roaring log fires, so we managed to achieve the relaxed, intimate atmosphere that we wanted quite easily.”

David and Becks are a wonderful couple. It’s a rare treat to have a groom’s interview on the blog, and David gives some amazing advice. You all know I adore intimate weddings and a relaxed approach to planning, so I was thrilled when these gorgeous folks landed in my inbox. Everything about their day is perfect for the English Wedding Blog!

David told me “Pretty much everything other than the photographer and the venue was done by our friends and family, particularly Becks’ mum who could have 50 different careers if she wished, she did all the flowers, the table dressings and the bunting amongst other things.”
