Pastels are our favourite wedding palette – they have been for years and I doubt that will ever change. But it’s easy to forget there’s a gentle rainbow of pastel colours encompassing everything from palest dusky pinks through to barely-there olive greens, dove greys and soft corals… because pastel doesn’t only mean pink.

Today’s shoot puts forward a beautiful and very strong case for delicate blue pastel hues. The key colour is Serenity, which works well all year round; for cool winter weddings and soft pastel spring and summer ones. It gives you the ‘something blue’ and is incredibly calming, delicate and outrageously pretty, whilst maintaining that elegant feel.

Woodland weddings have been one of my favourite styles of the year – and with lovely Lou at Whimsical Wonderland Weddings styling her own day (congratulations, Lou!) after the woodland setting where she was married, the theme looks set to continue inspiring brides and grooms for many wedding seasons to come.

We all love a woodland: there’s a magical element to the sunlight and an abundance of flora and fauna to inspire even the hardiest city dwellers… And woodland settings fire our imaginations: we’ve all lived for fairytales in our childhood, and something of their enchantment never leaves our hearts…

So it was with real excitement that I first looked at this styled shoot sent in by Emma from Goose & Berry. As well as being a boutique caterer, Goose & Berry plan, design and style weddings and wanted to display this within a shoot. Where better to publish the inspirational ideas from a day in the woods than on your favourite wedding blog?! 😉

Sometimes I spend hours gazing at delicious-looking photos of food. It’s a worthwhile pastime… because food comes in the top 5 wedding priorities for most couples. Your guests will remember the food and music from your wedding day above almost everything else – so make the most of your menu sampling sessions, everyone!

Today I have some brilliant advice from wedding catering expert Emma at Goose & Berry. Emma’s been investigating your favourite wedding foods and shares her top tips for wedding menus for the coming year.
