The English garden wedding theme is one – quite possibly the only one – which will always be on trend. We love the romance of our home-grown flowers, the greenery and scents of hazy summer days – and it’s a style which conjures up memories from childhood, days in the countryside and magical holidays close to home.

Greenery is a huge thing for 2017 – and we love it to bits. This shoot is full of gorgeous foliage and fabulous styling with softer accent colours and statement blooms. Stylist Lauradana from Wedding Creations combines those gorgeous greens with white and soft pinks to create a feminine wedding style I know you’ll love.

An English country garden is a place of tranquility, beauty and soft, playful colour. Its charm has inspired thousands of weddings dating back many, many years – and for me the wonder of an English garden wedding theme will never fade. Sarah and Nick’s wedding uses the very best of country garden styling and adds personal, traditional touches to the theme: tea and china, Pimms, fairy cakes, croquet and bunting. It’s so perfect!

Today’s stunning bride and groom married at Devon’s Deer Park Hotel, an 18th century Georgian mansion just outside of Honiton. The Deer Park’s enchanting gardens make for the loveliest backdrop for a summer wedding, and the orangery is a beautifully light ceremony venue.

Beautiful English Country Garden wedding inspiration with Nichola Morton Photography (25)

This is all TOO beautiful. If you’re here, then you’re so lucky to be reading the English Wedding Blog on what must be our most amazing month ever. (And I’ve been blogging here for… ooh a very long 82 whole months now!) Seriously – this is one of the loveliest weddings yet: full of ideas, amazingly pretty and beautifully photographed.

Beautiful bride Kayleigh married Phil in Northumberland in late summer. Their day is gorgeous: watching the day unfold through their glorious images just melts my heart. And the details…. there’s so much to inspire you, from the exquisitely decorated cake to the fabulous flowers, hanging lanterns and tables dotted with mercury glass. The handpainted signs are cute as can be; oh and the star of it all is the littlest flower girl, who arrived just a couple of months before her Mum & Dad’s big day!

“We wanted an English country garden wedding. We wanted all our guests to be relaxed & enjoy the day as much as we knew we would. We didn’t want anything too formal. We just wanted a big party with everyone that we love.

“Our flowers were provided by the brilliant Ange & her team at Cottage Flowers, Ilmimster. Ange was so helpful from the very first time we met, she knew the style that we wanted & came up with the most beautiful ideas & arrangements!

The ONLY wedding theme which has been constantly popular since this blog was born in 2009 (we’re six!! who knew?!) is English Country Garden. I love that we’re so smitten with flowers, with nature, with the beauty of our gardens and countryside… and today’s styled inspiration shoot pays tribute to this, the loveliest wedding theme of all.

The inspiration of this editorial shoot was the location itself, the recently renovated south London wedding venue, Morden Hall and the surrounding beautiful Morden Hall Park. The park is run by National Trust and it contains a variety of natural landscapes, including parkland, the River Wandle, meadow and marshland. One of the most popular areaS of the park is the rose garden, which has over 2000 roses and other flowers and it is a stunning example of the traditional English rose garden. We wanted the images to reflect the elegance of this historic venue but also to showcase the natural beauty surrounding it.

Coco Chanel said “Simplicity is the keynote of all true elegance” – and today’s wedding is simply perfect.

Cadhay was decorated with the most beautiful country garden flowers in jars and  vases by In Bloom. Jane wore a beautiful ivory dress from La Bella Bridal  while Jon was wearing a dashing blue suit by Hugo Boss of Dukes and looked very handsome indeed.

Today’s wedding is all about the pretty details: Katie and Craig were married at Buxted Park and opted for an English country garden wedding style with pastel shades of pink and flower garlands to decorate wedding tables.

Wedding blog UK Cecelina Photography (1)

Katie made all of her wedding reception stationery herself, and the details made for a very beautiful day at one of England’s luxury wedding venues. I’m sure her lovely ideas will inspire some of you – it would be great if you leave a comment at the end of the blog post for Katie and Craig.

All of today’s images are by London’s Cecelina Photography – my huge thanks to Cecelina for submitting this wedding. The wedding report is halfway down this blog feature, but before I launch into the words and pictures, I’d like to share Katie’s glowing review of the staff at Buxted Park wedding venue with you – because it’s so lovely:

“They cannot do enough to help you before, during and after the wedding day. It runs like clockwork without making you feel like “just another wedding”.”
