Kate and David’s wedding is beautiful, perfect… the dream summer wedding at a venue I know is a pretty special place (my cousin was married here!) – and they have the loveliest images to remember it by, from John Mottershaw Photography and with my friend Carol Elizabeth Photography as his second shooter on the day. “We ended up having 2-4-1 on the wedding day as John brought in Carol as an extra pair of hands, so we were very lucky! They both fitted in so well with the guests and you barely noticed they were there snapping away.”

“We were both so pleased when we came across Charlotte’s boutiqueShe was completely different to other boutiques. We sat down while we filled in a questionnaire like what was my budget and what sort of designers I liked etc. and then I just started trying on dresses that she would pick out for me. She would then use the feedback I had on certain dresses to then pick out the next dress. Until finally I found the one! I knew it was perfect from the moment I tried it on.”

I’m so very pleased to hear some great news from my friend and sponsor, the lovely Phil Drinkwater. Chatsworth House have just chosen to use a number of Phil’s photos for their latest wedding brochure!

Phil – congratulations!

Phil Drinkwater is a favourite photographer of mine, and has previously won the Guild of Photographers’ “Photographer of the Year” award.

As one of the very best luxury wedding venues in the North West, Chatsworth House hosts incredibly beautiful weddings. The stately home is famous for its spectacular gardens, houses one of the most important private art and sculpture collections and is set in 1000 acres of stunning parkland. Phil says on his own wedding photography blog that Chatsworth “is the perfect venue for beautiful wedding photography”.

wedding photo by Kirsten Mavric (33)Yesterday I was delighted to share Nicola and Bertie’s beautiful Derbyshire wedding blog with you – with the most gorgeous photos from Kirsten Mavric.

Nicola was a truly beautiful bride in an exquisite lace wedding dress by Sassi Holford, marrying Bertie in a Derbyshire village church with an old English feel to the day. I loved their focus on family and friends, and hearing about Nicola’s jewellery – all family heirlooms – was a real treat.

Today it’s time for the wedding reception, and I’ll leave you with part two of Nicola’s wedding story to enjoy!

Bertie and I had some photographs on our own in a field opposite the church – for which I clambered over a style – before joining everyone else.

Asking brides and grooms to share their own wedding stories is the best thing, ever!

Nicola’s story of her wedding to Bertie, from July last year, is one of my favourites. And the beautiful images of this traditional English wedding with a vintage flavour are just wonderful.

Wedding photographer Kirsten Mavric submitted the wedding for the blog. She sent me so many gorgeous pics I’m going to drag this one out… and trust me, you’ll adore me for it. 😉

Part one is the wedding day: from the bridal preparations in the morning to nerves, smiles, chuckles and kisses in church… I’ll hand over to Nicola to tell you more. Enjoy!

We got engaged in December and were marrying in July so there wasn’t too much time to dress shop. I basically went to look one day in January and narrowed it down to two and then reeled in my Mum to help with the final selection. Before I tried any on, I wasn’t really sure what I wanted – only that it wasn’t something strapless – but as soon as I put the “Milla” on in Sassi Holford (it’s also called Daisy on their website), I absolutely loved it.

Did you love Nicola and Chris’s wedding on the blog yesterday? I bet you did… although did I perhaps made you a bit angry when I left you partway through, with our gorgeous bride and groom on the way to their wedding reception?! Hee!

It’s ok – they’re back on English Wedding blog this morning with more fabulous pics from wedding photographer Andy Hook, and Nicola’s words are going to make you all tingly – quite possibly to bring a little tear to your eye too.

Enjoy.

Following the service, we did some pictures outside and on a nearby bridge, then headed towards home. We went for some pictures on the way with Andy the photographer, then arrived back to the guests in my dads open top classic car, which I sat up on the back of with a glass of bubbles in hand as we drove in! The party was in full swing, the bubbles and pimms were flowing and people were loving the games!
