Hello lovelies,

However you’re feeling after Boris’s announcement yesterday, please remember to take care of YOU today.

You might be busily trying to work out how your wedding can go ahead with covid-secure number limits at your venue. Perhaps you’re thinking of postponing once again. My heart goes out to you, it really does. Even for those of you going ahead with your summer weddings, I know there are still questions around logistics and capacity – and for all of our lovely couples and wedding suppliers, today is going to be intense.

Wedding suppliers, creatives, photographers – brides, grooms, planners and stylists: this is for you!

I’d like to collaborate with you on an article about the future of weddings. And I’d welcome ALL thoughts on the subject.

How do you think Covid will impact the future of weddings?

From this summer through to 2023 we’re expecting VERY busy seasons…

…but what about afterwards?

Will coronavirus have a huge effect on the long term nature of weddings?

In the years after the second world war, weddings were low key, frugal and intimate. But I’ve seen family photos of weddings from those years, and they’re beautiful, treasured family heirlooms. They’ve come to mind many times over the last year, as so many couples have had to postpone and downsize the dream weddings they were hoping for.

Congratulations!! So many of you have just gotten engaged… it’s the most exciting time of your lives, and the next year or two are going to be FULL of adventure! It’s time to celebrate and bask in the glow of being engaged – feel that little shiver of excitement every time you spot the ring on your finger, and just enjoy being this much in LOVE!

How are you doing, lovely readers? It’s been a rough start to the year, and if your wedding planning mojo has done a disappearing act I hear you. You’re not alone. A survey identifying the most stressful life events identifies weddings as being in their top 10* – and if we add covid worries and postponements onto that, the stress factor rockets.
