Today’s wedding is gorgeous – full of creative ideas and DIY touches from friends and family. Shirley and Mark married at Skipbridge in Yorkshire – a fascinating venue for its modern approach (green field venue, vintage cars as permanent props, donkeys and links with the fabulous PapaKåta)!

Shirley told me, “I am very lucky and have some amazing creative and imaginative friends who did most of the planning… We had many handcrafted elements to our wedding which made the day so special. The invitations, the seating plan, flowers – the list is endless.

Anna and Liam had a beautifully homemade outdoor wedding at Ox Pasture Hall, near Scarborough. Anna and her mum spent hours making things for the wedding beforehand, from the 100 metres of bunting her mum made to the stationery for the day itself. Anna saved money on flowers by making her own arrangements with more help from her mum, and spent many a weekend scouring car boot sales for vintage crockery and china to decorate tables.
